I HEREBY give notice that the following special resolution was passed by members of Coat Shop, Limited, on the 9th day of August, 1940:—
- “That the company be wound up voluntarily.
- “That A. P. S. Bell, of 204-206 Southern Cross Buildings, Chancery Street, Auckland, be, and is hereby appointed liquidator for the purpose of such winding up.”

NOTICE OF EXTRAORDINARY RESOLUTION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of HEGGIE BROS. (STOREKEEPERS), LIMITED.
IN accordance with the provisions of section 300 of the Companies Act, 1933, on the 20th day of August, 1940, it was resolved:—
“That the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities continue its business and as it is advisable to wind up the company, the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. WALTER RUSSELL CHAPMAN, of Dunedin, Public Accountant, be appointed liquidator.”

COUNTY OF WHAKATANE.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Manawaha Hall Renewal Loan.
WHEREAS the sum of £500, borrowed by the Whakatane County Corporation to finance the erection of a hall situated in Manawaha, was due and payable on the 26th day of February, 1940; and whereas sinking funds in respect of the said loan amount to only £297 19s., and the sum of £170 is required to pay off the said loan: Now, therefore, the Whakatane County Council, in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and by virtue of an Order in Council made under section 11 of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, on the 3rd day of July, 1940, and published in the Gazette of the 4th day of July, 1940, at page 1619, hereby resolves:—
“First, to borrow the said sum of £170 for the purpose of paying off the said loan:—
“Second, that the said sum of £170 shall be repayable on the 29th day of September, 1940, or such other earlier date as may be determined by the Council:—
“Third, that for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the said loan of £170 the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny (1d.) in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property of the Manawaha Special Rating Area, comprising all that area in the Auckland Land District, Whakatane County, bounded: Commencing at the north-east corner of Section 2, Block IV, Rotorua Survey District, near the Manawaha Road; thence along the eastern boundary of the said Section 2 (along the west side of the Manawaha Road) and crossing the said road at the north-west corner of Section 5, Block IV, Rotorua Survey District, and Block I, Upper Rangitaiki Survey District, and continuing in a straight line in an easterly direction along northern boundary of said Section 5 to its north-eastern corner; thence south along the whole of the eastern boundary of the said Section 5, and continuing in a southerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Sections 1, 10, 11, and 12, all in Block IV, Rotorua Survey District; and thence south along the eastern boundaries of Sections 4, 5, and 6, E.R., all in Block VIII, Rotorua Survey District, to the south-east corner of said Section 6, E.R., and thence west along the southern boundaries of said Section 6, E.R., and small Native Reserve 28A to the north-east corner of the Rotorua Soldiers’ Block or north-east corner of Section 7, Block VIII, Rotorua Survey District; and thence in a south-westerly direction along the eastern and southern boundaries of the Rotorua Soldiers’ Block, that is to say, the line travels south along the eastern boundaries of Sections 7 and 12, Block VIII, Rotorua Survey District (Soldiers’ Block), and thence south-west along the southern boundaries of Sections 12 and 11, Block VIII, Rotorua Survey District; and then south-west along the eastern boundaries of Sections 4, 5, and 8, Block XI, Rotorua Survey District (Soldiers’ Block), and thence direct west along the southern boundary of Section 8, and crossing the Matahi Road; then south along the eastern boundary of Section 7, Block XI, Rotorua Survey District (Soldiers’ Block), to the County boundary near Lake Rotorua; thence
in a straight line in a northerly direction following the Whakatane County boundary-line to the south-west corner of Section 6, Block VII, Rotorua Survey District; and thence along the east side of Pikowai Road in a northerly direction to the north-west corner of Section 7, Block III, Rotorua Survey District; and thence in a straight line in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of the said Section 7 to the south-west corner of Section 6, Block IV, Rotorua Survey District; and thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of Section 6; and thence in an easterly direction along part of north boundary of said Section 6, to the south-west corner of Section 4, Block IV, Rotorua Survey District; and thence north along the western boundaries of Sections 4 and 2, Block IV, Rotorua Survey District, to the north-west corner of said Section 2; and thence in a straight line in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of the said Section 2 to the point of commencement; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 29th day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of seven years or such shorter period as may be determined by the Council or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF NAME.
WE, HILDA WILKINSON, of Wellington, Hotel Employee, and DAVID REX WILKINSON, of Murchison, Infant, heretofore called and known by the names of HILDA JELLIE and DAVID REX JELLIE, hereby give public notice that on and prior to the 26th day of July, 1940, we formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the use of the names HILDA JELLIE and DAVID REX JELLIE and then assumed and adopted thenceforth the names of HILDA WILKINSON and DAVID REX WILKINSON instead of the said respective names; and we give further notice that by a deed-poll dated 26th day of July, 1940, duly executed and attested and enrolled in the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Wellington Registry, under No. M 1/472a, we formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said names of HILDA JELLIE and DAVID REX JELLIE, and declared that we have assumed and adopted and intend thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the said names of HILDA WILKINSON and DAVID REX WILKINSON and to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the said name of HILDA WILKINSON and DAVID REX WILKINSON exclusively.
