Declaring Lands in the Hawke’s Bay Land District to be subject
to the Provisions of Section 23 of the Reserves and other Lands
Disposal Act, 1939.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section twenty-three of the Reserves and
other Lands Disposal Act, 1939, it is enacted that
the Governor-General may by Proclamation declare any lands
of the Crown to be subject to the provisions of that section
to enable certain readjustment of leases and licenses to be
carried into effect :
And whereas it is deemed expedient that the lands described
in the Schedule hereto should be subject to the provisions of
the said section :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities so conferred upon me by subsection one of
the aforesaid section twenty-three, I, George Vere Arundell,
Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare, that from and after
the date of gazetting hereof, the lands described in the
Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of the said
section twenty-three of the Reserves and other Lands
Disposal Act, 1939.
SCHEDULE.
HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—GWA VAS SETTLEMENT.
Section 43, Block XIII, Maraekakaho Survey District :
Area, 108 acres 2 roods.
Section 46, Block XIII, Maraekakaho Survey District :
Area, 107 acres.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan
marked L. and S. XI/2/322, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 3rd day of
September, 1940.

Revolving in Part a Proclamation setting apart Lands in the
Otago Land District for Lease as Village Settlements.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by section five of the Land Act,
1924, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke
in so far as it relates to the land described in the Schedule
hereto the Proclamation made on the nineteenth day of
September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, and
published in the Gazette of the twenty-seventh day of
September, then instant, page 1469, setting apart Crown
lands for lease as village settlements under the Land Act, 1892.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
Section 6, Block IV, Tautuku Survey District : Area,
23 acres 2 roods 8 perches.
Section 8, Block IV, Tautuku Survey District : Area,
23 acres 0 roods 16 perches.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 2nd day of
September, 1940.

Crown Land set apart as Provisional State Forest.

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests
Act, 1921-22, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby set apart the Crown lands described in the Schedule
hereto as provisional State forest.
SCHEDULE.
WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.—WESTLAND FOREST-
CONSERVATION REGION.
All those areas in the Westland Land District, Westland
County, containing 4,680 acres 1 rood 28 perches, more
or less, and described as follows:—
All that area containing 807 acres, more or less, situated
in Blocks IV and VII, Arawata Survey District, and bounded
generally as follows: Towards the north by Provisional
State Forest 1691 (Gazette 1919, page 1284); towards the
south-east by the proposed Main South Road; towards
the south-west by the Waiatoto River; and towards the
north-west by a public road.
Also all that area containing 163 acres 1 rood 28 perches,
more or less, and being Sections 347 and 348, Block IV,
Arawata Survey District.
As the same are more particularly delineated on plan
No. 155/5, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest
Service, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Also all that area containing 120 acres, more or less,
situated in Block X, Okuru Survey District, and bounded
generally as follows: Towards the north by a public road
and Reserve 327; towards the east by Provisional State
Forest 1712 (Gazette 1921, page 2920); towards the south-
east by Section 2466 for 35 chains; towards the south-
west by a right line; and towards the north-west by Section
243 for 35 chains. As the same is more particularly
delineated on plan No. 145/16, deposited in the Head
Office of the State Forest Service, at Wellington, and
thereon bordered red.
Also all that area containing 3,650 acres, more or less,
situated in Block XIII, Okuru Survey District, and Block I,
Turnbull Survey District, and bounded generally as follows:
Towards the north-east by the left bank of the Hapuka
River, by a line bearing due east to the westernmost corner
of Section 514, Block XIII aforesaid, and by Sections 514,
518, 519, a road, and Sections 221, 222, and 223 to the
southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; towards
the south-east by lines bearing 239° 8' for 1340 links, 149°
8' for 290 links, and 339° 8' to the eastern boundary of
Provisional State Forest 1691 (Gazette 1919, page 1284);
towards the west by the said provisional State forest and
Provisional State Forest 1657 (Gazette 1920, page 2840);
and towards the north and west by Provisional State Forest
1690 (Gazette 1919, page 1284). As the same is more
particularly delineated on plan No. 145/17, deposited in
the Head Office of the State Forest Service, at Wellington,
and thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 27th day of
August, 1940.

as a permanent State forest.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—NELSON FOREST-
CONSERVATION REGION.
All that area in the Marlborough Land District, Marlborough
County, containing 267 acres, more or less, and being Lot 2
of Section 3, Block III, Wakamarina Survey District. As
the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 104/27,
deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at
Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (Marlborough plan
S.O. 1707/78.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 27th day of
August, 1940.
