NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

THURSDAY, AUGUST 29, 1940.

WELLINGTON, FRIDAY, AUGUST 30, 1940.

Conditions of Sale of South Island Potatoes.

PURSUANT to section 6 of the Marketing Amendment Act, 1937, I, Watler Nash, Minister of Marketing, do hereby prescribe that on and after the 29th day of August, 1940, and until further notice, the conditions of sale of potatoes grown in the South Island if intended for delivery for consumption in the North Island shall be the following, that is to say:

  1. Every shipment of potatoes other than potatoes for seed purposes from any port in the South Island to any port in the North Island must be accompanied by a grader’s certificate showing that the potatoes are of a grade not lower than F.A.Q. standard as defined by the New Zealand Grain, Seed, and Produce Merchants Federation.

  2. All potatoes for seed purposes grown in the South Island and intended for delivery to the North Island shall be sold only as seed potatoes and shall not be mixed with any potatoes intended to be sold for culinary purposes.
