APPLICATION FOR A LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Cromwell.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1926, the undersigned Lindsay Ralph Morris and Alexander Harper Elmslie, of Pembroke, Farmers, hereby apply for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 19/8/1940, at 3 p.m.

Date and number of miner’s right: (1/8/40) 77896; (1/8/40) 77897.

Address for service: Brodrick and Parcell, Solicitors, Cromwell.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points; also description of land traversed—e.g., unalienated Crown land, private land, or otherwise: Commencing in Cardrona River 2 chains below Halliday’s crossing, proceeding downstream on Crown lands alongside Sections 33 and 25, Block I, Lower Wanaka Survey District, to Ballantyne’s Road, then turning east along road 60 yards and crossing road into Section 26, Block I, Lower Wanaka Survey District, then north-east and north through Sections 26, 27, Block I, and through Section 41 and into Section 13, Block IV, of the same district.

Length and intended course of race: 1½ miles; northerly.

Points of intake: One, in Cardrona River.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Two months; £150.

Mean depth and breadth: 12 in. by 24 in.

Number of heads to be diverted: Three.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation, farming, and domestic.

Proposed term of license: Twenty-one years.

NOTICE is hereby given that the order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand dated the 23rd day of August, 1940, confirming the reduction of capital of the above-named company from fourteen thousand pounds (£14,000) to four thousand pounds (£4,000), and a minute approved by the Court showing with respect to the capital of the company as altered the several particulars required by the above statute, was registered by the Registrar of Companies at Wellington, on Wednesday, the 28th day of August, 1940.
