Appointments in the Royal Naval Reserve (New Zealand)
and Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand).

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve the following appointments in the Royal
Naval Reserve (New Zealand) and the Royal Naval Volunteer
Reserve (New Zealand):—

Lieutenant-Commander Archibald Cornelius, Royal Naval
Reserve (New Zealand), appointed to H.M.S. “Philomel”
additional, for duty at Navy Office, Wellington, as
Merchant Shipping Officer, to date 5th August, 1940, in
continuation.

Lieutenant Charles Alexander Woods, Royal Naval Reserve
(New Zealand), appointed to H.M.S. “Philomel”
additional, for H.M.S. “Monowai,” to date 8th August,
1940, and to H.M.S. “Monowai” on commissioning.

Commander George Edwin Lisle Alderton, Royal Naval
Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand) (Retired), appointed
to H.M.S. “Philomel” additional, for duty at Navy
Office, Wellington, as Intelligence Officer, to date 5th
August, 1940, in continuation (to serve in the rank of
Lieutenant-Commander).

Lieutenant Walter William Brackenridge, Royal Naval
Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand), appointed to H.M.S.
“Philomel” additional, for duty at Navy Office, Wel-
lington, as Merchant Shipping Officer (2), to date 5th
August, 1940, in continuation.

Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force.
