NOTICE is hereby given that the lease and license of the undermentioned lands having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Nelson Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, 13th August, 1940.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 16th September, 1940.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 18th September, 1940, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Whangarei County.—Ruarangi Parish.

ALLOTMENT 147: Area, 134 acres 3 roods 21 perches. Capital value, £225.* Deposit on deferred payments, £25. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £6 10s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4 10s.

  • Capital value includes the sum of £50 for improvements belonging to the Crown comprising 40 chains road fencing and 40 chains of boundary fencing.

Section is situated on Crutcher’s Road, 20 chains from main Whangarei–Taipuha Road, access being metalled. Property is seven miles from Tauraroa Railway-station, twenty-one miles from Whangarei Dairy Factory, and seven miles from Waiotira Saleyards. Area comprises 20 acres pipeclay, easy undulating, all ploughable and in short scrub and rushes; the balance is friable clay, but otherwise similar to the 20 acres. Watered by permanent streams and fairly well sheltered. Water-supply easement reserved in favour of Allotment 146.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 23rd September, 1940.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 25th September, 1940, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and payments required on account of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LANDS.

Waitomo County.—Mauingamangero Survey District.

SECTION 3, Block VI: Area, 367 acres. Capital value, £185. Deposit on deferred payments, £10. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £5 13s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3 14s.

Weighted with £513 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, comprising dwelling (poor), outbuildings, fencing, 316 acres felled and burnt (part reverted).

This property is a grazing proposition subdivided into twelve paddocks and situated on the Mangaotaki Road, twelve miles from the Pio Pio Post-office and one mile from the Haku School; access by metalled road twelve miles from Pio Pio. The section is mainly hilly to steep and broken, but about 30 acres is ploughable in small scattered areas. About 200 acres is fair pasture (mainly browntop and danthonia), 116 acres is worn-out pasture (almost totally reverted to hard fern), 10 acres shelter bush, and 41 acres limestone bluff and outcrops. Property responds only poorly
