Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the
Purposes of a Street in the Borough of Riccarton, at
Addington.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
forms part of land taken for the purposes of the
Hurunui-Waitaki Railway, and it is considered desirable
to allocate such land to the purposes of a street:
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested
in me by section two hundred and twenty-six of the Public
Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto
shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette,
become a street, and that the said street shall be under
the control of the Riccarton Borough Council, and shall
be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other
public highways are controlled and maintained by the said
Council.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 1·62 perches.
Part Railway land, Proclamation 253 (part of R.S. 118),
Block XI, Christchurch Survey District, Borough of
Riccarton. (S.O. 7162.)
In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 5944,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at
Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 8th day of
August, 1940.

Alteration of Boundaries.—Christchurch Drainage District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me
by section two of the Christchurch District Drainage
Amendment Act, 1920, and of all other powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount
Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby declare that the area described in the
Schedule hereto shall be added to and form part of the
Christchurch Drainage District; and, with the like powers
and authorities, do hereby also declare that the said area
shall be added to the Rural Heathcote Subdistrict of the
said district.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District containing by
admeasurement 1 rood 39·8 perches, more or less, and being
Lot 2, plan No. 8387, deposited in the office of the District
Land Registrar at Christchurch, part Rural Section 54,
situated in Block XV, Christchurch Survey District, and
being the whole of the land comprised in Certificate of Title,
Volume 395, folio 80, Canterbury Registry.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 7th day of
August, 1940.
