The General Reserve Classification Order 1940, Amendment No. 1.

PURSUANT to Regulation 5 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940,* the Minister of National Service doth hereby order as follows:—

  1. This Order may be cited as the General Reserve Classification Order 1940, Amendment No. 1.

  2. This Order shall be read together with and deemed part of the General Reserve Classification Order 1940† (hereinafter referred to as the principal Order).

  3. Clause 3 (1) of the principal Order is hereby amended by adding the following paragraphs :—

“ (d) Natives within the meaning of the Native Land Act, 1931 :

“ (e) Men who have been called up for service with the armed forces and whose appeals have been allowed on the ground that they conscientiously object to serving with the armed forces.”

  1. Clause 3 (2) of the principal Order is hereby amended by omitting “ and (c) ”, and substituting “ (c), (d), and (e) ”.
