Price Order No. 5.
IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon the Price Tribunal
by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, and
with the authority of the Minister of Industries and
Commerce, the Price Tribunal hereby makes the following
Price Order:-
- This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 5.
- In this Order “prevailing price” means, in relation
to the sale of beef, mutton, pork, veal, or lamb (including
mince, tripe, and offal from the carcasses, but not including
bacon or goods commonly known in the trade as “small-
goods”), the price at which such beef, mutton, pork, veal,
or lamb was sold by retail on the 29th June, 1940, or if
no sale was made on that date, on the last preceding date
on which such sale was made, at the same place and subject
to the same terms and conditions. - The maximum price at which beef, mutton, pork,
veal, or lamb (including mince, tripe, and offal from the
carcasses, but not including bacon or goods commonly known
in the trade as “small-goods”) may be sold by retail at
any place in New Zealand as from the 1st day of July,
1940, shall be not more than the prevailing price plus an
increase of ½d. per pound.
