CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Land in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 18th June, 1940.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section will be offered for sale for cash by public auction at the Lands and Survey Office, Te Kuiti, on Friday, 2nd August, 1940, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., under the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Otorohanga County.—Puniu Survey District.
SECTION 14, Block XIII: Area, 5 acres. Upset price, £60.
This section is known as Old Kawa West School-site and is situated at the junction of Kawa and Kakepuka Roads, Te Kawa West. The section is in medium pasture.

Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 18th June, 1940.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 29th July, 1940.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 31st July, 1940, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant will be required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Kawhia County.—Pirongia Survey District.
SECTION 12, Block V: Area, 609 acres. Capital value, £260. Deposit on deferred payments, £10. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £8 2s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 4s.
Weighted with £320 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising dwelling, cow-byre, whare, fencing, and grassing.
This property is situated on Okupata Road, eight miles from Opunau Post-office and School, and twenty-three miles from Otorohanga. It is a sheep and cattle proposition although a herd of about fifteen cows could be milked; hard country and very light.* There is 60 acres in medium pasture, 30 acres has been cleared, burnt, and surface sown, balance fern and light bush; subdivided into ten paddocks, poorly fenced.
*The soil is light loam resting on sandstone and rubble formation; watered by permanent creeks and springs.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 14th August, 1940, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Clutha County.—South Molyneux Survey District.
PART Section 5, and Sections 6–8, Block IV: Area, 206 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £250. Deposit on deferred payments, £10. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £7 16s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5.
Weighted with £40 for improvements, comprising buildings. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £5, the balance of £35 may be paid by twenty half-yearly instalments of £2 5s. including interest at 5 per cent.
This property is situated approximately four miles from Port Molyneux Post-office and School, four miles from Romahapa Railway-station, and seven miles from Paretai Dairy Factory; the access is by formed and part metalled road. The soil is a light loam on clay bottom. The property, which is undulating and broken, is subdivided into four paddocks and is suitable for grazing.

NOTICE is hereby given that GEORGE MARLAND CATE, of 2 Hawea Road, Point Chevalier, Theatre-manager, was this day adjudged bankrupt; and I hereby summon a meeting of creditors to be held at my office, Law Court Building, High Street, Auckland, on Monday, the 24th day of June, 1940, at 10.30 o’clock a.m.
