Appointment of Director of State Advances Corporation of New Zealand.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 12th day of June, 1940.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section nine of the State Advances Corporation Act, 1936, and of every other power him thereunto enabling, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint
George Arthur Lewin, Esquire, C.M.G.,
to be a Director of the State Advances Corporation of New Zealand, to hold office for a period of one year from the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty.

Declaring Road-lines intersecting Land in Wairere Settlement, Canterbury Land District, to be closed, and the Land comprised therein to be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS a report has been received from the Surveyor-General from which it appears that the roads described in the Schedule hereto are unformed and unused, and that the said roads intersect land acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and are not suitable to the subdivision of such land:
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and six of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby close the roads hereinafter described; and I do hereby declare that the land comprised in the said roads shall thereupon become subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.-ASHBURTON COUNTY.
APPROXIMATE area of the road to be closed : 9 acres O roods 30 perches.
Adjoining or passing through R.S. 21721, 21722, 21723, and closed road, Block VIII, Alford Survey District.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/174, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, under No. 2877, and thereon coloured green.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 17th day of June, 1940.
