The Enlistment Badges Emergency Regulations 1940.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 31st day of May, 1940.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to the Emergency Regulations Act, 1939, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby make the following regulations.
REGULATIONS.

These regulations may be cited as the Enlistment Badges Emergency Regulations 1940.

In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires,—
“Badge” or “enlistment badge” means an enlistment badge approved by the Minister under these regulations:
“Certificate” means a certificate issued with a badge under these regulations:
“Issuing authority” means a person authorized by the Minister to issue enlistment badges:
“Minister” means the Minister of Defence. -
The Minister may approve of the issue of enlistment badges to be worn on the lapel by men—
(a) Who have been honourably discharged from His Majesty’s Naval or Air Forces or the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force:
(b) Who have volunteered for service in His Majesty’s Naval or Air Forces or the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force and have been accepted or provisionally accepted but whose service has not commenced or has been temporarily suspended:
(c) Who have volunteered for service as aforesaid and have been rejected because they are not up to the standard of medical fitness required for service in the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force. -
Enlistment badges shall be in the form in the Schedule to these regulations.
