Notice to Mariners No. 14 of 1940.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—BAY OF ISLANDS.
Beacons established.

Position: Trig. Station. Lat., 35° 18′·1 S.; long., 174° 06′·5 E. (approx.). Chart No. 1512.

Details: A set of triangular-shaped beacons, painted white, has been established in Veronica Channel for working Opua. The first pair is situated 151⅛° 3·8 cables and 134⅛° 2·14 cables from the above trig. station and bears 171° 49′ when in line.

The second pair is situated 345° 3·15 cables and 329° 6·61 cables from the same station and bears 316° when in line.

NOTE.—The red buoy at the entrance to the channel lies close westward of the first leading line.

Notice to Mariners No. 15 of 1940.

Wellington, N.Z., 21st May, 1940.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—AUCKLAND HARBOUR.
Light established.

Position: Orakei Wharf Light, lat., 36° 50′·6 S.; long., 174° 49′ E. (approx.).

Abridged description: Fl.G.ev. sec. (U).

Details: A green light flashing every second thus—flash 0·2 sec., eclipse 0·8 sec., has been established on the eastern end of the wooden wave-break of the Orakei Boat-harbour in a position 205° 375 ft. from Orakei Wharf light.

The wave-break, which is under construction, will extend 257° 45′ for approximately 4,800 ft. with an opening of about 300 ft. beginning 1,730 ft. from the light.

Kahurangi Light Normal.

Previous Notice: No. 32 of 1938 hereby cancelled.

Position: Lat., 40° 46′ S.; long., 172° 13′ E. (approx.).

Details: The light is now exhibiting its normal character of group flashing every 15 seconds.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Fish Retailing.

NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been received from T. David for a license to conduct the business of fish retailing at premises at 2 Shakespeare Road, Napier.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 30th May, 1940. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same and (where applicable) include a statement showing the average monthly turnover of the business of the person making the representations and the extent to which it is considered the granting of the application would affect such turnover.

Judd and Company, Wellington, for a license to continue carrying on the industry of “the manufacture of electric ranges, including the assembly of parts thereof,” to the extent of manufacturing domestic electric ranges, domestic electric rangettes, and commercial ranges.

Manufacture of Wet Storage Batteries.

NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been received from Mercury Auto Supplies, Auckland, for a license to engage in the industry of “the manufacture and/or assembly of secondary or storage cells and batteries, commonly known as wet batteries” to the extent of assembling storage batteries (unspillable acid jelly type) for use in portable radios (2 volt “A” batteries), cycle lamps, and small hand lamps.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 30th May, 1940.
