Appointment of Issuing Officers for the Purpose of issuing Licenses to take or kill Opossums in the Rotorua Acclimatization District.

PURSUANT to the provisions of Condition No. 3 included under the heading “Rotorua Acclimatization District” in the Order in Council dated the 14th day of May, 1940, made under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 43 of the 16th day of May, 1940, at page 1065, declaring open seasons for the taking or killing of opossums in the acclimatization districts specified in such Order in Council, I, Joseph William Allen Heenan, Under-Secretary of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

The Conservator of Fish and Game, Rotorua,
Ranger G. G. Potts, Taupo,
Ranger H. Frame, Tuai, Hawke’s Bay,
The Manager, Lake House, Waikaremoana,
The Postmaster, Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay,
The Postmaster, Tuai,

to be Issuing Officers for the purpose of issuing licenses to take or kill opossums in the Rotorua Acclimatization District under and subject to the general conditions set forth in the said Order in Council and the special conditions set forth under the heading “Rotorua Acclimatization District.”

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Masterton Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Masterton taken on the 8th day of May, 1940, on the proposal of the Masterton Borough Council to borrow the sum of ten thousand five hundred pounds (£10,500) for waterworks improvements :—

Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was . . 608
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 257

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
