PRIVATE BILL.
The Otaki and Porirua Empowering Amendment Act, 1940.
NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended to be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand in the ensuing session by Herbert Edgar Evans, of Wellington, Barrister and Solicitor, and Reginald Herbert Webb, of Wellington, Barrister and Solicitor (hereinafter called “the promoters”), for leave to bring in a Private Bill, the short title of which is as above, to effect the following objects and purposes, viz. :
To amend the Otaki and Porirua Empowering Act, 1907, and to empower the Porirua College Trust Board to award and pay scholarships tenable at certain schools and to validate certain scholarships already awarded; also to validate and confirm certain retiring-allowances made by the said Board to the principal and the assistant teacher of the school recently carried on at Otaki by the said Board or the closing of the said school; and to empower the Board to establish out of income reserves for certain specified purposes, and to dedicate, sell, exchange, mortgage, lease, and purchase property.
Printed copies of the proposed Bill will be deposited at the office of the Examiner of Standing Orders at Parliament House, Wellington, not later than fourteen (14) days after the commencement of the session.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 10th day of May, 1940, presented to the said Court by Hamilton Nimmo and Sons, Limited, Turnbull and Jones, Limited, and Hope Gibbons, Limited, all being companies duly incorporated under the Companies Act, 1933, and having their respective registered offices in Wellington: And that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Wanganui on the 24th day of May, 1940, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, and any creditor or contributory of the said company may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose, and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.
