Lands in Canterbury Land District forfeited.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease and license of the undermentioned lands, having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Canterbury Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

Land in the North Auckland Land District acquired for a State Forest.

NOTICE is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the Forests Act, 1921-22, as a State forest.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Hokianga County, containing by admeasurement 1,360 acres, more or less, situated in Block XIII, Kaeo Survey District, and Block I, Omāpere Survey District, and being the block known as Mangapukahukahu. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 5/25, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (Certificate of Title, Vol. 280, folio 50.)

Education Reserve in North Auckland Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 15th May, 1940.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, at 2.30 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, 18th June, 1940, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVE.
Suburbs of Auckland.

Lot 5 of Allotment 70, Section 16, Suburbs of Auckland: Area, 1 rood 20 perches. Upset annual rental, £28 15s.

This section, which is suitable as a building-site, is situated in Waiata Avenue, Remuera, five minutes from the Remuera Post-office. A good tram service and all modern conveniences available. The section has a frontage of 57·5 ft., and is partly below the level of the road.

Form of lease may be perused and any further information required may be obtained at the office of the undersigned.

Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 15th May, 1940.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned properties are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m., on Monday, 24th June, 1940.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 26th June, 1940, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants will be required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LANDS.

Waitomo County.—Orahiri Survey District.

(Exempt from payment of rent for three years.*)

Section 1b, Block XIII, and Section 3, Block XIII: Area, 842 acres 1 rood 30 perches. Capital value, £425; half-yearly rent, £8 10s.

  • Rent exemption for three years is conditional on permanent improvements to twice the value of the rent remitted being effected during the exemption period in addition to the improvements required to be effected in terms of the Land Act, 1924.

Weighted with £845 for improvements, comprising house (in fair order) wool-shed, iron shack, 600 chains subdivisional fencing, 300 acres cleared and surface sown. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £55, the balance £760, may remain on mortgage to the former lessee, for a term of twenty-one years with interest at 5 per cent. by half-yearly instalments of principal and interest combined amounting to £29 12s. 10d. each. Subject to the improvements required to earn the rental exemption being effected the interest payable under the mortgage will be remitted for three years.

A grazing proposition situated on the Hauturu-Putake Road, ten miles from Waitomo Post-office and School, twenty miles from Otorohanga Dairy Factory; access is by metalled road for eight miles and the balance (two miles) clay track. The soil is fair quality clay on sandstone and
