ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 23rd day of April, 1940.
Present:
THE HON. P. FRASER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to the Harbours Act, 1923, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby prescribe that the dues and rates set forth in the Schedule hereto shall be charged and taken by the Hauraki Plains County Council for the use of the wharf at Turua purchased by the said Council from the Thames Borough Council.

Regulations under the Naval Defence Act, 1913, amended.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of April, 1940.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section twenty-five of the Naval Defence Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, with the advice of the Executive Council, doth hereby amend and supplement the regulations referred to in the Schedule hereto as shown therein.
SCHEDULE.
Regulations for the Government of the Royal Naval Reserves (New Zealand), 1937, Part I.
Article 24A : Insert :—
24A. Navigating Allowance—Officers who are appointed for navigating duties in H.M. ships will, with effect from 3rd September, 1939, be eligible for navigating allowance at the rates set out in the following paragraphs.

A Commander who is appointed for navigation duties will receive an allowance of 5s. a day when actively employed on navigation afloat.

A Lieutenant-Commander, Lieutenant, or Acting Lieutenant will receive an allowance of 4s. a day when appointed for navigating duties.

A Sub-Lieutenant appointed for navigating duties will receive an allowance of 2s. 6d. a day.
Article 24B : Insert :—
24B. Gunnery and Torpedo Duties—Officers who obtain first-class certificates in gunnery or torpedo courses may, at the discretion of the Naval Board, be appointed to ships not bearing a Gunnery or Torpedo Lieutenant for gunnery or torpedo duties, according to the subject or subjects in which first-class certificates have been obtained, and while so employed will receive 1s. a day in addition to their pay.
