NOTICE is hereby given that Cross and Jackson, Limited, has changed its name to the Windsor Manufacturing Company, Limited, and that the new name was this day entered on my Register of Companies in place of the former name.

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to section 241 of the Companies Act, 1933, that a meeting of the members of the above company will be held in the Nelson Institute, on Friday, the 17th May, 1940, at 3 p.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before the meeting showing the manner in which the winding up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and to hear any explanation that may be given by the liquidators.

PRIVATE BILL.
THE PAPAWAI AND KAIKOKIRIKIRI TRUSTS BOARD EMPOWERING ACT, 1940.
NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended to be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand in the ensuing session by Arthur Lloyd Hansell, of Wellington, Clerk, in Holy Orders, and Ernest Henry Anderson, of Day’s Bay (near Wellington), Retired Merchant (hereinafter called “the promoters”), for leave to bring in a Private Bill the short title of which is as above to effect the following objects and purposes, viz. :—
To empower the Papawai and Kaikokirikiri Trusts Board to award and pay scholarships tenable at certain schools and to apply moneys in farming operations; also to validate payments of certain scholarships already awarded; also to validate if necessary certain farming operations heretofore carried on by the Board.
Printed copies of the proposed Bill will be deposited in the office of the examiner of Standing Orders at Parliament House, Wellington, not later than fourteen (14) days after the commencement of the session.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Waitemata Electric-power Board Financial Advances Loan, 1940, £5,000.
Extract from minutes of proceedings of the Waitemata Electric-power Board at a meeting held on Monday, 22nd April, 1940.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, section 15 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1938, and amendments and regulations made thereunder, respectively, the Waitemata Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—
“ That, for the purpose of providing half-yearly instalments of principal and interest and other charges on a loan of £5,000 (five thousand pounds), authorized to be raised by the Waitemata Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Acts, in order to provide funds for the purposes mentioned in section 118 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925 (section 118 authorizes the Board to install motors, electric wires, electric lamps, and other fittings and equipment in public or private buildings, works, dwellings, and other places, and to accept payment therefor by instalments), the Waitemata Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/75th (one seventy-fifth) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the capital value) of all rateable property within the whole of the Waitemata Electric-power District as defined in the Proclamation proclaiming the said District appearing in the New Zealand Gazette dated the 18th day of October, 1923, and altered by Proclamations appearing in the New Zealand Gazettes dated the 27th day of November, 1924, the 26th day of August, 1926, the 7th day of March, 1929, and the 24th day of January, 1935; and that such special rate shall be an annually-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 10 (ten) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct extract from the minutes of the Waitemata Electric-power Board.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, section 15 of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1936, and amendments and regulations made thereunder, respectively, the Waitemata Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—
“ That, for the purpose of providing half-yearly instalments of principal and interest and other charges on a loan of £45,000 (forty-five thousand pounds), authorized to be raised by the Waitemata Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Acts, in order to provide additional moneys for the purpose of the further reticulation of electric-power within the whole of the Waitemata Electric-power District, the Waitemata Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/15th (one-fifteenth) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the capital value) of all rateable property within the whole of the Waitemata Electric-power District as defined in the Proclamation proclaiming the said district appearing in the New Zealand Gazette dated the 18th day of October, 1923
