Inspector under the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, appointed.—

Wellington, 22nd February, 1940.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
Alfred Casselton Hodge,
to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, for the district under the control of the Waikohu County Council, the appointment to take effect on the 8th day of February, 1940.

Purchase of Wool Emergency Regulations 1939.—Scale of Values of Slipe Wool.
PURSUANT to the Purchase of Wool Emergency Regulations 1939, I, Walter Nash, Minister of Marketing, do hereby fix the following Scale of Values of slipe wool for the purposes of the regulations.

In the appraisement of wool under the regulations values will be assigned to wool in accordance with the Scale of Values but subject to variations on account of yield, length, amount of seed-content, and all other factors affecting the appearance or condition of the wool.

Notice defining a Rescue-station Levy Area in the Ohai Coal-mining Area.
WHEREAS by subsection four of section six of the Coal-mines Amendment Act, 1936, it is provided that every rescue-station established in accordance with the foregoing provisions of the said section shall be established in respect of an area to be defined by the Minister by notice published in the Gazette :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said subsection four of section six of the said Act, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Mines, do by this notice define the area described in the Schedule hereto as an area (to be known as the Ohai Rescue-station Levy Area) in respect of which a rescue-station may be established.

SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Southland Land District bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station (A) Wether Hill, in S.G. Run No. 42, Block XX, Waitaki Survey District; thence easterly by a right line to Trig. Station K, Block XXII, Waitaki Survey District; thence southerly by a right line to Trig. Station G, in S.G. Run No. 14, Block XXVIII, Waitaki Survey District; thence again southerly by a right line to Trig. Station I, in Section 44, Block XI, Wairoa Survey District; thence westerly by a right line to Trig. Station (F) Woodlaw, Block XII, Wairoa Survey District; thence north-westerly by a right line to Trig. Station S, in Section 113, Block II, Waiua Survey District; thence north-easterly by a right line to the northernmost corner of Section 74, Block XVIII, Waitaki Survey District; thence easterly by a right line to Trig. Station (A) Wether Hill, the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Mines N. 8/58/10, deposited in the Head Office, Mines Department, Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Notice as to the making of By-laws under the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Amendment Act, 1933.—(Notice No. Ag. 3727.)
NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Amendment Act, 1933, as amended by section 4 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1936, of the making by the Taranaki Agricultural Society (Inc.), on the 12th day of January, 1940, and of the approval by the Governor-General on the 10th day of February, 1940, of by-laws under the above-entitled Act, controlling the admission of persons to any place used or occupied by the said society for any meeting, show, exhibition, competition, or entertainment held by the said society, which said by-laws came into force on the last-mentioned date. The by-laws made by the Feilding Industrial Agricultural and Pastoral Association on the 25th day of October, 1935, and published in the Gazette on the 21st day of November, 1935, at page 3383, are substantially the same as the by-laws made by the first-mentioned society.

The by-laws made by the Feilding Industrial, Agricultural, and Pastoral Association on the 25th day of October, 1935, and published in the Gazette on the 21st day of November, 1935, at page 3383, are substantially the same as the by-laws made by the said societies to which this notice relates.
