Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, as to the Statutory Closing-day in the Combined District of Taumarunui and Manunui.

WHEREAS the local authorities of the combined district of Taumarunui and Manunui, as constituted for the purposes of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, and comprising the Borough of Taumarunui and the Town District of Manunui, have failed to decide what working-day in the week shall be the statutory closing-day for shops in such district :

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section 18 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby appoint Wednesday to be the statutory closing-day for shops in the said combined district of Taumarunui and Manunui.

Notice defining a Rescue-station Levy Area in the Waikato Coal-mining Area.

WHEREAS by subsection four of section six of the Coal-mines Amendment Act, 1936, it is provided that every rescue-station established in accordance with the foregoing provisions of the said section shall be established in respect of an area to be defined by the Minister by notice published in the Gazette :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said subsection four of section six of the said Act, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Mines, do by this notice define the area described in the Schedule hereto as an area (to be known as the Waikato Rescue-station Levy Area) in respect of which a rescue-station may be established.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station, Okapu (G), Block VIII, Awaroa Survey District; thence north-easterly by a right

line to Trig. Station 673 (W), Block III, Rangiriri Survey District; thence south-easterly by a right line to the south-eastern corner of Block VIII, Rangiriri Survey District; thence south-westerly by a right line to Trig. Station 677A, Block XVI, Rangiriri Survey District; thence south-westerly by a right line to Trig. Station 787, Block III, Alexandra Survey District; thence south-westerly by a right line to Trig. Station Puketapu (64), Block V, Alexandra Survey District; thence north-westerly by a right line to Trig. Station Tihicuenuku, Block III, Whangaroa Survey District; thence north-easterly by a right line to Trig. Station Okapua, the place of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Mines N. 8/58/9, deposited in the Head Office, Mines Department, Wellington, and thereon edged blue.
