Classification of Street in Invercargill City.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve of the Invercargill City Council’s proposed classification of the street described in the Schedule hereto and situated in Invercargill City.

SCHEDULE.

INVERCARGILL CITY.

STREET classified in Class Three : Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 7 tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which when carrying a load has an axle weight of not more than 4½ tons of any one axle.

Stead Street (all that portion from its junction with Ayr Street to the western boundary of Invercargill City).

Dated at Wellington, this 19th day of February, 1940.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block IX, Belmont Survey District for Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for road. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Lower Hutt and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a road: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Tangoio, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Notice as to Statutory Closing-days under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22.

WHEREAS the local authorities of the respective separate districts mentioned in the First Column of the Schedule hereto have failed to decide what working-day in the week shall be the statutory closing-day for shops in their respective districts :

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section 18 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby appoint as the statutory closing-day for shops in each such district on and from the 4th day of March, 1940, the respective working-days set opposite their respective names in the Second Column of the Schedule hereto.
