Land in Gisborne Land District for Lease by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Gisborne, 18th December, 1940.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section
will be offered for lease by public auction at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Gisborne, on Monday,
27th January, 1941, at 2.30 o'clock p.m., under the provisions
of the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Cook County.—Hangaroa Survey District.
SECTION 1A, Block XV : Area, 10 acres. Upset annual
rental, £2.
Weighted with £67 (payable in cash) for improvements,
comprising felling and grassing, road fencing, and half-share
boundary fencing.
This section is situated near Tiniroto Village, about 2½
chains off the present Gisborne-Napier Highway. Access is
by way of the old highway which is formed but not metalled.
Land comprises easy hill country mostly ploughable and is
in good pasture. It is ring-fenced and is well watered.

Village Land in Gisborne Land District for Selection on
Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Gisborne, 18th December, 1940.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section
is open for selection on renewable lease under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Gisborne, up to 4 o'clock
p.m. on Wednesday, 12th February, 1941.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the District Lands and Survey Office, Gisborne, on Friday,
14th February, 1941, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant
is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land
Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is
required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit
comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent,
lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE.
GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT.—VILLAGE LAND.
Waikohu County.—Motu Village.
SECTION 1, Block V: Area, 1 acre. Capital value, £20;
half-yearly rent, 10s.
Weighted with £3 (payable in cash) for improvements,
comprising road-boundary fencing and felling and grassing.
This section which is situated in King Street, adjoining the
store-site, comprises flat land in rushes and rough pasture.
The section is somewhat damp but when developed should
be very suitable for the running of a house cow. It is ring-
fenced, but fences on eastern and southern boundaries are in
poor order; a new fence has recently been erected on western
boundary.
Special condition.—The successful applicant is required,
before the lease is issued, to arrange with the adjoining
owners for half-value of the boundary fencing.

Land in Nelson Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Nelson, 18th December, 1940.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section
is open for selection on renewable lease under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, up to 11 o'clock
a.m. on Tuesday, 14th January, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, on Thursday,
16th January, 1941, at 10 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is
unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land
Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants
are required to produce documentary evidence of their
farming experience and financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is
required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit
comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease
fee, deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements,
and proportionate part of insurance on the buildings.
NOTE.—This section is offered in terms of section 153 of
the Land Act, 1924. which provides that no right to any
mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose
rights shall be to the surface soil only.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Murchison County.—Lyell Survey District.—Westland Mining
District.
SECTION 53, Square 138, Block XV: Area, 24 acres 0 roods
28 perches. Capital value, £40; half-yearly rent, 16s.
Weighted with £113 for improvements, comprising dwelling
and cow-byrne (both in poor condition), hay-shed, pig-sty,
35 chains road fencing, 35 chains subdivisional fencing,
12 acres clearing and stumping, and 20 acres grassing. This
sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £13,
the balance may be repaid over a period of five years by
half-yearly instalments of principal and interest (5 per cent.)
combined, amounting to £11 11s. per half-year.
Situated on the main Buller Gorge road four miles from
Newton Flat Post-office, three miles from Newton Flat School,
twenty-eight miles and thirty-six miles from Inangahua
and Glenhope Railway-stations respectively, and eight
miles from Murchison Dairy Factory and Saleyards. The
area is flat, about half being in clear paddocks, the remainder
having some fern and blackberry with little timber. Soil
is fair loam resting on gravel formation. Pastures are worn
and top-dressing is required. The section is watered by the
Buller River and is suitable for dairying in a small way by
someone with outside employment.

REID, of Cambridge, Lorry-driver, was this day
adjudged bankrupt; and I hereby summon a meeting of
creditors to be holden at the Courthouse, Cambridge, on
Thursday, the 19th day of December, 1940, at 11 o'clock
a.m.
