Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Timaru) Order 1940, Amendment No. 1.

PURSUANT to the Oil Fuel Retail Hours Emergency Regulations 1940, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct as follows :—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Timaru) Order 1940, Amendment No. 1.
  2. This Order shall come into force as from the date of the gazetting thereof.
  3. The Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Timaru) Order is hereby amended by adding to clause 5 thereof the following :—

“Ninth week { Amuri Motors, Limited.
{ Morrison’s Coal Co., Limited.”

Flying Officer William Stanley Simpson, M.B.E., to be Acting Flight Lieutenant. Dated 1st March, 1940.

Acting Flight Lieutenant William Stanley Simpson, M.B.E., is confirmed in the rank of Flight Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 1st June, 1940.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND SPECIAL DUTIES BRANCH.

Appointment.

Kenneth Eaton Davidson is granted a temporary commission in the rank of Pilot Officer (on probation). Dated 1st December, 1940.

Frederick Arnold Davis is granted a temporary commission in the rank of Squadron Leader (Acting Wing Commander). Dated 1st December, 1940.

Promotion.

Flying Officer Strachan Agnew Goldingham (temporary commission) to be Flight Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 1st December, 1940.

Appointments in the Royal Naval Reserve (New Zealand).

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointments in the Royal Naval Reserve (New Zealand) :—

Lieutenant Alan Seton Winton, Royal Naval Reserve (Retired), appointed to H.M.S. “Achilles,” vice Chapman, to date 2nd December, 1940.

Lieutenant H. A. Dunnet, Royal Naval Reserve, appointed to H.M.S. “Muritai” additional, for fast minesweepers, to date 2nd December, 1940.

Ieuan George Thomson, appointed to H.M.S. “Philomel” additional, for H.M.S. “Monowai” as Second Electrician, to date 16th August, 1940, and to H.M.S. “Monowai” as Second Electrician, to date 30th August, 1940 (to serve under T. 124 Agreement), holding rank equivalent to, and to wear the uniform of a Temporary Sub-Lieutenant (E1), Royal Naval Reserve (New Zealand), serving under T. 124 Agreement.

Formation of New Units, Changes in Designation, and Reorganization of Units of the Territorial Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve, under section 6 (a), Defence Act, 1909, of the formation of new units, changes in designation, and reorganization of units of the Territorial Force as set out hereunder :—

(a) The following new corps and units are formed. Dated 1st November, 1940 :—

New Zealand Provost Corps.
New Zealand Ordnance Corps.

Headquarters, Army Reserve, Wellington.
Headquarters, 4th New Zealand Mounted Rifles Brigade (Motorized), Palmerston North.
Headquarters, 7th New Zealand Infantry Brigade, Wellington.
3rd Battalion, The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), with headquarters at Auckland.
2nd Battalion, The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own), with headquarters at Wellington.
2nd Battalion, The Hawke’s Bay Regiment, with headquarters at Dannevirke.
12th Field Regiment, New Zealand Artillery, with headquarters at Wellington, comprising :—
The 37th Battery, with detachments at Wellington and Napier.
The 38th Battery, with headquarters at Auckland.
The 30th Light Aid Detachment, New Zealand Ordnance Corps (attached), with headquarters at Wellington.
22nd Field Company, Corps of New Zealand Engineers, with headquarters at Auckland.

5th Composite Company, New Zealand Army Service Corps, with headquarters at Auckland.
