Appointment of Honorary Child Welfare Officers under the
Child Welfare Act, 1925.

IN pursuance of section 2 of the Child Welfare Act, 1925,
I, Henry Greathead Rex Mason, Minister of Education,
do hereby appoint the following persons as Honorary Child
Welfare Officers for the purpose of the said Act, for the

Promotion.

Flying Officer Ronald Bruce Leslie MacGregor (Temporary
Commission) to be Flight Lieutenant (temporary).

Transfer.

Squadron Leader John Seabrook, A.F.C. (Reserve of
Officers), is transferred from the Administrative and
Special Duties Branch to the General Duties Branch in
his present rank. Dated 2nd December, 1940.

Relinquishment.

Flying Officer Clarence Arthur Umbers (Retired List)
relinquishes his commission. Dated 4th July, 1940.

temporary commission in the rank of Flying Officer.
Dated 1st November, 1940.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND SPECIAL DUTIES BRANCH.

Appointment.

George Thomas Wilson is granted an Honorary Commission
in the rank of Flight Lieutenant. Dated 28th October,
1940.

Naval Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand).

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve the following appointments in the New
Zealand Naval Forces and the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve
(New Zealand) :-

Commander Alexander David Boyle, Royal Navy (Retired),
appointed to the Staff of Navy Office, Wellington, as
Technical and Material Officer, to date 17th July, 1940.
(Commander Boyle to serve in rank of Lieutenant-
Commander and receive pay and allowances under the
New Zealand Naval Regulations.)

Sub-Lieutenant Raymond Victor Berry, Royal Naval
Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand), promoted to Lieu-
tenant, to date 8th October, 1940.
