Commodore William Edward Parry, C.B., to relinquish appointment of Commodore Commanding New Zealand Squadron and command of H.M.S. “Achilles,” to date 15th October, 1940, and to continue in the appointment as 1st Naval Member of the New Zealand Naval Board and Chief of the Naval Staff with the rank of Commodore 2nd Class.

Captain Hugh Merriman Barnes, A.D.C., Royal Navy, appointed to H.M.S. “Achilles” in command, vice Parry, to date 15th October, 1940.

Lieutenant-Commander Douglas Alfred Bingley, Royal Navy (Retired), appointed to H.M.S. “Philomel” in command, and as Naval Officer in Charge, Auckland, Superintendent, H.M. Dockyard, Devonport, King’s Harbourmaster, Auckland, and Director of Naval Recruiting, temporarily, vice Barnes, to date 14th October, 1940, and as Naval Control Service Officer, Auckland, in continuation. To serve in the acting rank of Commander.
