The first increment is granted after completion of two years’ satisfactory service and after passing the probationary warders’ examination. On completion of twenty years’ continuous permanent service a bonus of £10 will be awarded if so recommended by the Controller-General of Prisons.
- Also free quarters. § Grading personal to officer. † Deduction from salary for residence or quarters provided. § When the maximum is reached an increment of £15 may be granted to Warders of outstanding zeal and ability if so recommended by the Controller-General of Prisons. † Also receives special allowances. || Or senior messenger in charge of building.
