MENTAL HOSPITALS DEPARTMENT.
NOTES.—Increases due to attendants and nurses below the rank of Senior are according to scale and subject to qualifying in their respective grades as set out in the Rules and Regulations for Nurses.
Tradesmen in charge of working parties of three or more employees will be paid an “in charge” allowance at the rate of £15 per annum whilst so engaged.
REFERENCES (except where otherwise stated the amount shown with the reference letter is to be deducted from the amount shown in the salary column): * Also scale lodging allowance. † Subject to passing Senior Nursing Examination within a reasonable period after discharge from the Forces. & Grading personal to officer. ** Does not contribute to Superannuation Fund. Service on 31/3/40 : M. Quill, 40 years, G. Edmenson, 32 years 6 months : C. E. McLaren, 34 years 7 months. a, Board and lodgings; b, meals when on duty ; c residence, only ; d, in addition, to receive residence, fuel, and light valued at £150 per annum; e, also free house, fuel, and light; g, residence, fuel, and light; h, privilged to purchase from institution store at cost price as part payment in commuting former system of free maintenance; i, to receive £10 per annum allowance while acting as Deputy Charge Attendant; j, further increment subject to passing Junior Examination; k, to receive annual allowance as shown while acting as Charge, provided that in no case shall the effect of the payment be to increase the cash payment beyond the maximum cash salary of a Charge Nurse; l, free laundry service; m, Medico-psychological certificate; n, annual allowance for special services; o, on leave without pay; p, to receive an allowance to bring remuneration up to £180 per annum while acting as Deputy Charge Nurse; r, Senior Mental nursing certificate; s, volunteered but not accepted for Active Service; t, Absent on Home Service; u, absent with Naval Forces; x, absent with Expeditionary Force; z, absent with Royal N.Z. Air Force.
