Decisions of the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to the authority conferred on the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, the following decisions in respect of applications for licenses were made on the 5th February, 1940.

Manufacture of Storage Batteries.

Young Bros., Timaru

To extend their present operations (assembly only) to include the manufacture of plates, plate group-posts, and cell connections

Declined.

Manufacture of Radios.

Universal Radio Co., Auckland

To continue carrying on the industry of "the manufacture for sale of radio receiving sets"

Granted, for the manufacture of up to one hundred "customs built" sets per annum.

Variation made to Previous Licensing Decision.

Manufacture of Soap.

E. O. Farley, Ltd., Auckland

Declined a license on the 4th December, 1939, to continue carrying on the industry of "the manufacture for sale of soap and soap-powder" in respect of the manufacture of abrasive soap and abrasive soap-powder

Now granted, in respect to "Dad" Cleanser only.

  1. An application from P. Isbester, Wellington, for a Fish Wholesaler's License which had previously been declined, was reconsidered and the decision reversed and the application granted.

  2. An application from R. Alfano, Wellington, to extend the conditions of his Industrial Fishing License (previously granted for trawling in Cloudy Bay to the extent of a line drawn from Cape Campbell to Rununder Point) was granted for trawling in Cloudy Bay to the extent of a line drawn from Cape Campbell to Robin Hood Point.
