THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Lyttelton Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

BOROUGH OF LYTTELTON.

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Lyttelton, taken on the 24th day of January, 1940, on the proposal of the Lyttelton Borough Council to borrow the sum of £3,000 (three thousand pounds) for the purpose of improving and extending the Borough water-supply:—

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Riverton, taken on the 23rd day of January, 1940, on the proposal of the Riverton Borough Council to borrow the sum of seven thousand pounds for the purpose of instituting a water-supply scheme for the Borough of Riverton:—

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block III, Ellesmere Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Foranui and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate area of the piece of land required to be taken: 0.2 perches.

Being portion of Lot 1, D.P. 9156, part of Rural Section 2769. Situated in Block III, Ellesmere Survey District (Canterbury R.D.). (S.O. 7073.)

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 102946, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Approval of Testing Officers under the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931.

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve, until further notice, of the persons named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officers under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.
