Variation of Order in Council setting apart Native Land as a
Native Reservation.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of
October, 1940.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to subsection four of section five of the
Native Purposes Act, 1937, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby vary the Order
in Council made on the ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, and published in the Gazette
on the twelfth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and
twenty-three, at page 1867, setting apart and reserving
Hautu lB lb l Block as a Native Reservation by excluding
therefrom that portion of the said land described in the
Schedule hereto.

Te Aroha Borough Council authorized to apply Portion of Closed Street for Purposes of its Electricity Undertaking.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of October, 1940.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power conferred upon him by section one hundred and ninety-four of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby approve of the Te Aroha Borough Council applying that portion of a closed street described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Borough of Te Aroha to the purposes of its electricity undertaking.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece of land situated in the Land District of Auckland containing by admeasurement 31 roods, more or less, being that portion of closed street in the Borough of Te Aroha, formerly known as Burgess Street, from Terminus Street to the Chain Reserve by the Waihou River, as same is more particularly delineated on the survey office plan No. 15394, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justice of the Peace Act, 1927.

Declaring Crown Land in the Gisborne Land District to be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as the "said land") is Crown land not acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, but is adjacent to certain land acquired under the said Act, and known as the Ngatapa Settlement and can conveniently be disposed of therewith:
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and five of the said Act, and on the recommendation of the Dominion Land Purchase Board, and after considering the report of the Gisborne District Land Board, do hereby declare the said land to be subject to the said Act, to the intent that it shall hereupon be deemed to be portion of the said Ngatapa Settlement and may be disposed of accordingly.

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT.
PART Section 2, Block XV, Waikohu Survey District:
Area, 49 acres 1 rood 5 perches. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1913/231, filed in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon cross-hachured in red.

Vesting the Control of Scenic Reserve in the Kaiata Scenic Reserve Board.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act), for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,
William McKay,
William Meldrum,
Frederick Arthur Kitchingham,
Earnest Warnes,
John Cairney,
Frederick Walter Shallcrass,
William Hill, and
James Begg Kent,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Kaiata Scenic Reserve Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), in trust, for the preservation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,
- The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Saturday, the thirtieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty, at five o’clock p.m., at the Grey Golf Club House, and thereafter the Board shall meet for the transaction of business at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.
- The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.
- Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days' notice of such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.
