Additional Member of Domain Board appointed.
Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 9th October, 1940.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased,
in pursuance of section 46 of the Public Reserves,
Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, to increase the
total number of members of the Omau Domain Board from
six to seven and to appoint James Costello as the additional
member thereby rendered necessary.

Appointments in the Public Service.
Office of the Public Service Commissioner,
Wellington, 16th October, 1940.
THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following
appointments in the Public Service :—
Ivor Lewis Eliott,
to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Fertilizers Act,
1927, on and from the 17th day of September, 1940.
Robert Henry Fryer,
to be Registrar of Marriages and of Births and Deaths at
Te Aroha, as from the 9th day of October, 1940.
Roger Gale Henry,
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Rotorua, as from the 7th day of October, 1940.
Howard James Dunford,
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Foxton, as from the 10th day of February, 1940.
Ernest Arnold Fankhurs,
to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and
Deaths at Carterton, as from the 30th day of Septem-
ber, 1940.

The Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940.—Notice
Fixing Prices of certain Grades.
Office of Minister of Marketing,
Wellington, 16th October, 1940.
PURSUANT to Regulation 5 : 1 of the Lemon
Marketing Regulations 1940, I hereby fix the
following prices per bushel to be paid by the Mar-
keting Department for lemons of fancy grade and
commercial grade respectively delivered to the Depart-
ment during the undermentioned period.
The prices are fixed on an average basic price of
6s. 9d. for sufficient fruit which when cured will pack
a bushel case.
Period of delivery (both days inclusive): 16th
October to 31st October, 1940—
Loose packed fresh lemons, Fancy Grade .. s. d.
Loose packed fresh lemons, Commercial Grade 4 10

Notice of Intention to take Additional Land for a Native School,
in Blocks V and IX, Whangaroa Survey District.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the
land described in the Schedule hereto for a Native school ;
and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land
so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kaeo
and is there open for inspection ; and that all persons affected
by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-
grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same
in writing, and send such writing within forty days
from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of
Public Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken :
1 acre.
Being part Wainui 2r No. 4 Block,
Situated in Blocks V and IX, Whangaroa Survey District
(Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 31305.)
In the North Auckland Land District ; as the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D.
108885, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public
Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XI, Tauakira Survey
District, for a Native School.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute
a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a Native
school—and for the purposes of such public work the land
described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken ;
And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so
required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Matahiwi
Landing and is there open for inspection ; and that all
persons affected by the execution of the said public work
or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any
well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public
work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in
writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the
first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public
Works at Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and sec-
tion 32 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1936, to take the land
described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes ;
And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land
so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at
Lower Hutt and is there open for inspection ; and that
all persons affected by the taking of the said land should,
if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of
such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such
writing, within forty days from the first publication of this
notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
