OTOROHANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL RATE.

Mangaorongo Stream Drainage Area, £1,000 Loan. Striking special rate of one shilling and sevenpence in the pound on Class “A” lands, ninepence-halfpenny in the pound on Class “B” lands, and fourpence-three-farthings in the pound on Class “C” lands.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Otorohanga County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000 authorized to be raised by the Otorohanga County Council under the above-mentioned Act for clearing the Mangaorongo Stream of willows, the Otorohanga County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one shilling and sevenpence in the pound on Class “A” lands, ninepence-halfpenny in the pound on Class “B” lands, and fourpence-three-farthings in the pound on Class “C” lands, on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Mangaorongo Stream Drainage Special Rating Area as described in the Schedule hereto and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 15 years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Mangaorongo and Orahiri Survey Districts, commencing at the north-west corner of Section Puketarata part 4E 2; thence due east along the northern boundary of the said Section Puketarata part 4E 2; thence along the northern boundary of Section 1, Block IV, Orahiri Survey District; thence southwards and eastwards following the Kio Kio Road to its junction with the Ouruwhero Road; thence following that road northwards to the northern boundary of Section 2D 5B 1; thence along the northern boundary of the said Section 2D 5B 1, to the Main Trunk Railway; thence northwards along the Main Trunk Railway to the north-west corner of Lot 1, Block I; thence along the northern boundary of Lot 1, Block I, crossing the Puketarata Road; thence along the northern boundaries of 1B and Lot 2 of Section 8, Block I; thence southwards along the eastern boundary of Lot 2, Section 8, Block I, to the north-west corner of Lot 1 of Section 1, Block I; thence along the northern boundary of Lot 1 of Section 1 of Block I, Mangaorongo Survey District; thence southwards along the eastern boundary of Lot 1, Section 1 of Block I, to the Kio Kio Road; thence along the Kio Kio Road to its junction with Ellis Road; thence northwards along the Ellis Road to the north-west corner of Section 9E; thence along the northern boundaries of Section 9E and part 5, the western and northern boundaries of part 3, to the Main Highway; thence northwards along the Main Highway to the Awatane Road; thence south-easterly along the Awatane Road to the north-east corner of 11A; thence southwards along the eastern boundaries of 11A and 11B, Block II, to the north-west corner of Section 5; thence along the northern boundary a distance of 30 chains; thence southwards from that point to its intersection with Section 29A 1; thence eastwards along the northern boundary of 28A 1, to the eastern boundary of Section 29A 1; thence southwards to its intersection of the north-west corner of Section 7, Block II; thence along the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 7, Block II, to a road; thence along that road westerly to its junction with Section 4; thence long the eastern boundaries of Sections 4 and 2 to the Maihihi Road; thence along the Maihihi Road to the north-east corner of part 29C 2A 2, Block VII; thence southwards along the eastern boundaries of part 29C 2A 2 and 15C, and half-way along the eastern boundary of 15B; thence due west to the southern boundary of 62B; thence along the southern and western boundaries of 62B; and thence along the western and northern boundaries of 62A; thence along the southern boundary of Rangitoto Tuhua part 29C 2A 2, D.P. 12450, Block VII; thence along the southern and western boundaries of A1 Mangaorongo Block, to the south-western corner of Section 12, Block II, Mangaorongo Survey District; thence along the western boundary of Section 12, Block II, to the south-east corner of Section 29C 2H 1; thence along the southern and western boundaries of the said Section 29C 2H 1; thence westwards along the southern boundary of 31C; thence along the western boundary of 31C; thence along the southern boundaries of 31B, part 31A, and Native Reserve, 3 acres, Section 14, and Section 14; thence along the western boundary of Section 14 to a road; thence following the said road to the Main Highway; thence generally along the south-eastern boundary of part 2 Section 1, D.P. 10419,

to its southernmost point; thence eastwards to the Main Highway; thence along the Main Highway south-westerly to the western boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 20893, of Sections 1 and 10, Block I, to its intersection with Lot 3 of Section 10, Block I; thence along the eastern and southern boundaries of the said Lot 3 of Section 10, Block I, to its intersection with Section No. 12, Puketarata Block; thence along the eastern and southern boundaries of the said Section No. 12, Puketarata Block, to the railway-line; thence crossing the railway-line, along the southern boundary of Section 9, Block I; thence across a road; thence along the southern boundaries of Sections 3 and 4B 2, to the Waipa River; thence northwards along the Waipa River to the point of commencement.

EDUCATION BOARD OF THE DISTRICT OF TARANAKI.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Taranaki proposes to provide land as a school site and for such purpose requires to take all that piece of land in the Taranaki Land District containing by admeasurement 4 acres and decimal eight of a perch, more or less, being part of Mangaroa B2 D2 Block, shown on plan number 7816, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at New Plymouth, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-west, north-east, and south-east by other part of Mangaroa B2 D2 Block, aforesaid, 703·45 links, 496·3 links, and 910·5 links, respectively, and towards the south-west by Ohura Road and Section 13, Block 9, Town of Ohura, 537·8 links.

A plan of the land required to be taken as aforesaid is deposited for public inspection at the Ohura County Council Office, Ohura.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said work or to the taking of the said land and to send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice on the 13th day of February, 1939, to the Education Board of the District of Taranaki at its office in Lemon Street, in the Town of New Plymouth.
