Notification of a Proclamation of Emergency.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section two of the Public Safety Conservation Act, 1932, it is provided that if at any time it appears to the Governor-General that any circumstances exist, or are likely to come into existence, whereby the public safety or public order is or is likely to be imperilled, he may by Proclamation approved in Executive Council declare that a state of emergency exists throughout New Zealand:

And whereas it appears to me that circumstances are likely to come into existence whereby the public safety and public order are likely to be imperilled:

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power conferred on me by the said section two, and with the approval of the Executive Council, do hereby declare that a state of emergency exists throughout New Zealand.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 1st day of September, 1939.
