THE UNIVERSITY NATIONAL BURSARY REGULATIONS 1937, AMENDMENT NO. 1.

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of the Regulations Act, 1936, of the making of the above-entitled regulations under the above-entitled Act.

Serial number: 1939/119.

Date of enactment: 30th day of August, 1939.

Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the New Zealand Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of Officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—

STAFF AND COMMANDS.

Major R. S. Park, Regiment of Royal New Zealand Artillery, relinquishes the appointment of District Artillery Officer, Central Military District, on proceeding to England to act as Liaison Officer at the office of the High Commissioner for New Zealand. Dated 11th August, 1939.

Captain J. R. Page, Regiment of Royal New Zealand Artillery, is appointed Adjutant, 23rd Heavy Battery, N.Z.A., in addition to his present appointments. Dated 1st June, 1939.

Captain R. M. South, New Zealand Corps of Signals, is appointed to command the Southern District Signal Company. Dated 7th July, 1939.

QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant R. J. Evans is transferred to the Wellington East Coast Mounted Rifles. Dated 11th August, 1939.

THE WELLINGTON EAST COAST MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant R. J. Evans, from Queen Alexandra’s (Wellington West Coast) Mounted Rifles, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 17th September, 1933. Dated 11th August, 1939.

REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant G. M. Whitaker, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 9th March, 1934, and is posted to the 13th Heavy Battery. Dated 18th July, 1939.

Lieutenant D. J. Sweetzer ceases to be posted to the 17th Medium Battery, and is posted to the 19th Medium Battery. Dated 8th August, 1939.

John Frederick Cracroft Wilson (late 2nd Lieutenant, Royal Field Artillery) to be Lieutenant, 10th Field Battery, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 10. Dated 14th July, 1939.

CORPS OF N.Z. ENGINEERS.

Gerald Wilfred Bucknell, A.N.Z.I.A., to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the 3rd Field Company. Dated 18th July, 1939.

Thomas Lingard Fancourt, B.E. (Civil), to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the 3rd Field Company. Dated 1st August, 1939.

THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY’S OWN).

Lieutenant J. N. Haddock, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant and is posted to the 1st Battalion with seniority from 20th March, 1939, next below Lieutenant E. J. Bassett. Dated 14th August, 1939.

THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.

Fraser John Edward Baillie (late 2nd Lieutenant, The Hauraki Regiment) to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st August, 1937, and is posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion. Dated 11th August, 1939.

THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT (CITY OF WELLINGTON’S OWN).

Captain C. D. Bryson, 1st Battalion, is attached to the New Zealand Scottish Regiment. Dated 3rd August, 1939.

THE OTAGO REGIMENT.

2nd Lieutenant J. H. Kempthorne ceases to be posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 15th August, 1939.
