WAIRARAPA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

SPECIAL RATE.

Reticulation Extension Loan, £25,000, 1939.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Wairarapa Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the Reticulation Extension Loan, 1939, of twenty-five thousand pounds (£25,000), authorized to be raised by the Wairarapa Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of further reticulation in the Wairarapa Electric-power District the said Wairarapa Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twentieth of a penny (1/20d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Wairarapa Electric-power District, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the thirtieth day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the above Board held on the 20th day of July, 1939.

CREDITORS' VOLUNTARY WINDING UP.

Notice of Meeting of Creditors.

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of Greenland Gold, Limited, will be held on the 7th day of September, 1939, at 7.30 p.m., at which a resolution for voluntary winding up is to be proposed, and that a meeting of creditors of the said company will be held pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, at the County Council Chambers, Hokitika, on Thursday, the 7th day of September, 1939, immediately after the meeting of the company, at which meeting a full statement of the company's affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be liquidator of the company, and in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.

HOKIANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROADS—CLOSE PORTION OF ROADS.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Hokianga County Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute a certain public work—namely, altering the course of a road—and for the purposes of such public work, the lands described in the First Schedule hereto are required to be taken, and, further, that it is proposed to close the portions of road described in the Second Schedule hereto.

Notice is further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken for roads, and of the portions of road proposed to be closed, is deposited in the public offices of the Clerk of the said Council at Rawene, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or by the taking of the said lands, or by the closing of the said road, who have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work, or to the taking of the said lands, or to the closing of the said road, must state their objections in writing and send the same on or before the 30th day of September, 1939, being a date not more than forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Hokianga County Council, Parnell Street, Rawene.
