SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece of land in the Gisborne Land District, containing approximately thirty-nine and one-half acres, and being portion of Lot 23, D.P. 715, being part Matawhero No. 1 Block, Block II, Turanganui Survey District. As the same is delineated by a red border on the plan marked P.W.D. 103782, deposited in my office at Wellington.

Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Motueka the County of Waimea, and the Motueka Riding of the County of Waimea.

Wellington, 10th August, 1939.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 147 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the boundaries of the Borough of Motueka are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered by Order in Council made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, dated the 9th day of June, 1939, and published in Gazette No. 45 of the 15th day of June, 1939:

And also, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section 147 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the boundaries of the County of Waimea affected by the said Order in Council are hereby defined as set out in the Second Schedule hereto:

And, in further pursuance of the provisions of the said section 147 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the boundaries of the Motueka Riding of the County of Waimea affected by the said Order in Council are hereby defined as set out in the Third Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF MOTUEKA.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the high-water mark of Tasman Bay, in line with the southern boundary of Section 144, Block IV, Motueka Survey District; thence westerly to and along the southern boundary of Section 144 aforesaid, to High Street south; thence across High Street south and northerly along its western side to the north-eastern corner of Lot 10 on plan 1525 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Nelson, and being portion of Section 168, N.R.; thence along the northern and eastern boundaries of Lots 10, 9, and 8 on the said plan 1525, and being portions of Sections 169 and 168, N.R., aforesaid, to the north-western corner of the said Lot 8 at the abuttal of a road; thence by the said abuttal to the north-eastern corner of Section 9 of 175; thence by the southern side of the said public road forming the northern boundary of the said Section 9 of 175 and Sections 10 of 175, 11 of 175, and 12 of 175, to and across Queen Victoria Street by the same line to a point on the eastern boundary of Section 193; thence by the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 193 to the north-eastern corner of Section 207; thence by the eastern boundaries of Sections 208, N.R., 1 of 209, and 210, N.R., to the north-eastern corner of the last-named section; thence by the eastern boundary of Lot 10 on plan 1514, deposited as aforesaid, and being portion of Sections 211, N.R., 212, N.R., and 188, N.R., to the north-eastern corner of Whakarewa Street; thence by the shortest line across the said street to the south-eastern corner of Section 213; thence along the eastern boundary of the said Section 213 to the north-eastern corner thereof; thence across a public road by a production of the northern boundary of the said Section 213 to the eastern side of the said public road; thence along the southern and eastern boundaries of Lots 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 on plan 1534, deposited as aforesaid, being portions of Sections 187, N.R., 124, N.R., 122, N.R., 123, N.R., and 186, N.R., to the western boundary of Section 158; thence along the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of Section 158 to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 134; thence by a right line to the middle of High Street north; thence along the middle of High Street north to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 133; thence along the northern boundary of Section 133 and its production to the middle of Thorp Street; thence southerly along the middle of Thorp Street to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 137; thence to and along the northern boundary of Section 137 and its production to high-water mark of the sea; thence southerly generally along the high-water mark of the sea to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 144, N.R., the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF WAIMEA.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, bounded, towards the north generally by the sea from the northern head of Torrent Bay to Pukerau Point; thence by a right line from Pukerau Point to North Castor Peak; thence along the summit of the range over Tapamutu and Saddle Hill to the source of the Heringa Stream; thence by that stream to its confluence with the Pelorus River, and by that river to its source near Red Hills; thence to and along the summit of the range over Red Hills, Mount Rintoul, and Bush Cone to the summit of Wards Pass, and along a right line to Trig. Station Top 2, (Mangatawai); thence along the summit of the St. Arnaud Range to a point where the south-western watershed of the Motupiko and Rainy Rivers join the St. Arnaud Range; thence along the said watershed to its junction with the spur between Cow Creek and the Buller River, and along the summit of that spur to the confluence of the Hope and Buller Rivers; thence along a right line to Mount Owen, and along the summit of the range over Mount Luna, Mount Arthur, Crusader, and Mount Evans to a point due west of the northern head of Torrent Bay; thence along a right line to the said northern head of Torrent Bay, the place of commencement, excluding therefrom the City of Nelson and the Boroughs of Richmond and Motueka.

THIRD SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE MOTUEKA RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF WAIMEA.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District commencing at a point on the sea-coast, being the eastern extremity of the boundary-line between the Counties of Waimea (hereinbefore described) and Takaka, and bounded on the north and west generally by the said boundary-line to the south-western corner of Section 17, Block I, Motueka Survey District; thence on the south generally by the southern boundary of the aforesaid Section 17 and the southern and south-eastern boundaries of Section 18, and the south-eastern boundary of Section 11, all of Block I, Motueka Survey District, to Trig. M.C.; thence by Sections 19, 13, 12, and 5 of Block V, Motueka Survey District, and by the two parts of Section 110 and Section 24, Square 3, and the northern boundary of Section 66, Motueka Rural; thence to the middle-line of the Motueka River; thence in a southerly direction by the middle-line of the aforesaid river to a point in the same in line with the prolongation of the southern boundary of Section 21, Square 7; thence along such boundary to the south-easternmost corner of the said Section 21; thence generally on the south-west by Sections 22, 25, and 26, Square 7, to the northern boundary of Section 13, Square 3; thence in a south-westerly direction by the northern boundary of the said Section 13 to the eastern side of the Orinoco Road; thence by the eastern side of that road to the south-west corner of Section 12, Square 3; thence by the southern boundary of the said Section 12 and of Section 22, and by the western boundaries of Sections 93 and 94, all of Square 3, and by the southern boundary of the said Section 94 and the western and southern boundaries of Sections 120 and 123, Block XIV, Motueka Survey District, to its intersection with the Rosedale Road, and across such road to the boundary of the Moutere Riding as described in New Zealand Gazette 1920, page 2548, at the north-westernmost corner of Section 7, Block XIV, Motueka Survey District; thence generally on the south-east by the Moutere Riding; thence generally on the east by the sea-coast to the point of commencement, including all the adjacent islands, but excluding the Borough of Motueka.

Waihi Drainage Area.—Notice of Intention to make and levy General Rates.

Wellington, 15th August, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, to make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the Pukehina Subdivision of the Waihi Drainage Area constituted under the said Act, the general rates described in the First Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of all land included in the Central Subdivision the general rate described in the Second Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of all land in the Kaikokopu Subdivision the general rates described in the Third Schedule hereto, such respective rates being for the purpose of meeting maintenance-costs for the period 1st April, 1939, to the 31st March, 1940.
