METROPOLITAN FINANCES, LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the
matter of METROPOLITAN FINANCES, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general
meeting of the above company duly convened and
held on the 26th day of July, 1939, the following special
resolution was duly passed:

“ That the company be wound up voluntarily under
the provisions of the Companies Act, 1933, and that
FRANK CUMMINGS LITCHFIELD, Public Accountant,
Palmerston North, he and is hereby appointed liquidator
for the purposes of such winding up.”

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore
subsisting between the estate of the late JOSEPH
HENRY WALKER HOYE, deceased, COLIN JOSEPH HOYE, and
FRANK DEAN, carrying on business as Butchers at Clevedon
under the style or firm of “J. Hoye and Co.,” has been
dissolved by mutual consent as on and from the 21st day of
May, 1939.

All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be
received and paid respectively by the said Colin Joseph Hoye
who will continue to carry on the said business under the
style of J. Hoye and Co.

CHANGE OF NAME OF COMPANY.

NOTICE is hereby given that the London Book Club,
Limited, has changed its name to the London Book
Club (N.Z.), Limited, and that the new name was this day
entered on my Register of Companies in place of the former
name.

PUKEKOHE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Roads and Streets Improvement Loan of £26,000 (1939).
Extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Pukekohe
Borough Council at a meeting of such Council held on
the 26th day of July, 1939.

His Worship the Mayor moved—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,
the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and any
amendments thereto respectively, the Pukekohe Borough
Council hereby resolves as follows:

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a loan of twenty-six thousand pounds
(£26,000); authorized to be raised by the Pukekohe
Borough Council under the above-mentioned Acts, for
the purpose of improving main highways and other
roads and streets in the Borough of Pukekohe including
the construction, reconstruction, metalling and surfacing
of same, the provision of culverts, storm-water drains,
footpaths, and kerbing and channelling thereon, the
taking and purchase of land for any necessary deviations
or widening, the cost of machinery, plant, and materials,
labour, engineering, legal, and survey costs incidental
thereto, the said Pukekohe Borough Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of seven-elevenths of a
penny (7⁄11d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on
the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of
the whole of the Borough of Pukekohe; and that such
special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on
the 1st day of August of each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of nineteen (19)
years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Seconded by Councillor G. T. Parvin and carried.

of the Borough of Pukekohe was hereto affixed at the office of
and pursuant to a resolution of the Pukekohe Borough
Council in the presence of—

HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Lowry Bay Water and Sewerage Loan, £5,000, 1939.
Proposed by Councillor J. B. Yaldwyn—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,
the Hutt County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“ That, for the purpose of providing interest and other
charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by
the Hutt County Council under the above-mentioned
Act, for the purpose of construction of waterworks and
general reticulation of a water-supply and construction
of a sewerage-system for Lowry Bay, including engineers'
charges and preliminary expenses in the Lowry Bay
Special Rating Area, the said Hutt County Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of three and eleven one-
hundredths of a penny in the pound (311⁄100d. in the £1)
upon the capital value of all rateable property of
the Lowry Bay Special Rating Area comprising all
that area in the Wellington Land District situated in
Block XVI, Belmont Survey District, and bounded as
follows: Commencing at a point on the north-western
corner of the area and more particularly at the point
where the north-western boundary of Lot 32, D.P. 11205,
produced in a south-westerly direction cuts the line of
the high-water mark of the Wellington Harbour, the
boundary runs to the north-western corner of the said
Lot 32 in a straight line; thence along the north-western
boundary of Lots 32 and 31, D.P. 11205; and along the
north-western boundary of Lots 30 to 28, D.P. 11205,
inclusive, to the most northerly point on the said Lot 28;
thence in a straight line across the road to the most
westerly point on Lot 6, D.P. 11205; thence along the
northern boundary of the said Lot 6 to the most northerly
point on Lot 7, D.P. 11205; thence along the north-
eastern boundary of Lots 7 to 12, D.P. 11205, inclusive,
to the most easterly point on the said Lot 12; thence
along the southern boundary of the said Lot 12 to the
point where that boundary intersects the road; thence
across the end of Walter Road to the north-eastern
corner of Lot 13, D.P. 11205; thence along the eastern
boundary of the said Lot 13 to the south-eastern corner
of the said Lot 13, D.P. 11205; thence along the southern
boundary of Lots 13 to 19, inclusive, D.P. 11205, to
