Declaring a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area.

PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939, I, William Lee Martin, acting for the Minister of Marketing, being satisfied that a sufficient majority of the producers in the area of land defined in the Schedule hereto are desirous that such area should be declared to be a pool area for the marketing of bobby calves, do hereby declare such area of land, defined as aforesaid, to be a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area for the purposes of the said regulations under the name set out in the said Schedule, and I do hereby further declare that this notice shall take effect on the 3rd day of August, 1939.

SCHEDULE.

MANGATAWHIRI-POKENO BOBBY CALF MARKETING POOL AREA.

ALL that area of land lying entirely within the Counties of Franklin and Waikato and bounded by a line commencing on the county boundary of the Township of Mercer; thence from this point taking a straight line across country in an easterly direction to meet the Kopuera Stream at Section 142, Block II, Koheroa Survey District; thence from this point continuing the straight line across country in a like direction to meet the boundary-line between the Franklin and Waikato Counties at the Kopupu Stream; thence from this point continuing the straight line in an easterly direction across country to meet the western boundary of Block I, Maramarua Survey District, at Section 63; thence continuing in a northerly direction along the western boundary of the said Block I to the southern boundary of Block VII; thence, continuing along the southern boundary of Block VII; thence from this point continuing in a straight line to the Rataroa Trig. Station; thence from this point taking a straight line across country in a north-westerly direction to meet the boundary-line between the Franklin and Waikato Counties at Section 22, Block V, Wharekawa District; thence from this point continuing along the said boundary-line in an easterly direction to the sea-coast facing the Firth of Thames at the Miranda Landing; thence from this point taking a straight line across country in a north-westerly direction to meet the Mangatangi Road at Block III, Opaheke Survey District; thence from this point continuing the line to meet the Mangatangi Stream; thence following the said stream downstream in a southerly direction to Section 37, Block XII, Opaheke Survey District; thence from this point taking the line in a southerly direction across country to again meet the county boundary-line between the Franklin and Waikato Counties at Section 163, Block XVI, in the Koheroa Parish; thence continuing the line in a south-westerly direction to Section 16, Block XVI, in the Koheroa Parish; thence continuing the line in a north-westerly direction to Section 12, Block XV, in the Koheroa Parish; thence continuing in a northerly direction to Section 65, Block XI, in the Mangatawhiri Parish; thence from this point taking a straight line across country in a westerly direction to Section 160, Block XIII, Opaheke Survey District; thence continuing in a northerly direction to meet Section 127, Block IX, Opaheke District; thence from this point continuing in a westerly direction to the south-eastern corner of Block XII, Drury Survey District; thence from this point continuing the line in a southerly direction to meet Section 16, Block I, Pokeno District; thence continuing in a south-easterly direction to meet Section 208, Block I, Pokeno District; thence from this point, continuing in a southerly direction to the Township of Mercer on the county boundary at the original point of commencement.

ALL that area of land lying entirely within the County of Manawatu and commencing at Tangimoana Point on the eastern bank of the Rangitikei River; thence continuing in a direct line in an easterly direction to the junction of Main Road and Milner’s Line; thence continuing along the right-hand side of Milner’s Line to the Oroua River at Section 30, Block XII, Manawatu Survey District; thence continuing along the western bank of the said river in a southerly direction to the point where it is met by Puawai Road; thence from this point in a direct line across country in an easterly direction to meet Section 2, Block XIII, Kairanga Survey District, at Jackeytown Road; thence continuing along Jackeytown Road to the junction of this road with Karere Road; thence continuing along the south side of Karere Road to the point where it meets the Manawatu River; thence following the said river downstream on the western bank to the point where it is met by Moore’s Road; thence from this point taking a straight line across country in a north-westerly direction to the Township of Rangiotu; thence from Rangiotu taking a straight line across country in a south-westerly direction to meet the Motuiti Railway-station; thence from this point taking a straight line in a westerly direction to Orouakaitawa Trig. Station; thence from this point continuing in a westerly direction to meet the coast-line at the north-western corner of Block I, Manawatu Survey District; thence continuing along the coast-line generally in a northerly direction to meet Tangimoana Point at the mouth of the Rangitikei River, the original point of commencement.

Poukawa Drainage Area.—Notice of Intention to make and levy General Rates.

Wellington, 24th July, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, to make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the Poukawa Drainage Area the general rates described in the Schedule hereto, such rates being for the purpose of covering for the period from the 1st day of April, 1939, to the 31st day of March, 1940, the cost of administration of the said Act, including the maintenance of works constructed under that Act in the said area.

The amount of such rates (together with the annually recurring special rates already made and levied) will be payable in one sum on the 30th day of August, 1939.

The valuation-roll of the area is open for inspection at the Office of the Collector of Rates, Lands and Survey Department, Post-office Buildings, Napier, and may be inspected at all times at which the office is open for the transaction of public business.

SCHEDULE.

Class A.—On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the person appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, fourpence and ninety-seven one-hundredths of a penny (4·97d.) in the pound.

Class B.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, eighty-three one-hundredths of a penny (·83d.) in the pound.

Class C.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, seventeen one-hundredths of a penny (·17d.) in the pound.
