NOTICE is hereby given that the leases or licenses of the undermentioned lands, having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Taranaki Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Lands in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 17th July, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 21st August, 1939.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 23rd August, 1939, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Waitomo County.—Tangitu Survey District.

(NATIVE LAND SETTLEMENT).

SECTION 14, D.P. 3058. Block II: Area, 355 acres. Capital value, £175. Deposit on deferred payments, £10. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £5 7s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4 7s. 6d. Weighted with £400 for improvements, comprising cowshed, garage, 272 chains fencing, 320 acres felled and grassed (now reverting) and 14 acres cleared and stumped.

This sum is payable in cash, or after payment of a deposit of £80, the balance of £320 may be left on first private mortgage for a period of ten years with instalments payable on a thirty-five-year table with interest at 4½ per cent per annum. The balance then outstanding will be payable at the end of the term of the mortgage.

This is a dairying and grazing property situated on the Takiri Road, twenty-six miles from Taumarunui, four miles from Waimiha Railway-station and three miles from the nearest school; access is by metalled road. The section comprises undulating to hilly and broken country. The soil is light pumice loam resting on clay, papa, and sandstone formation; well watered by springs and creeks. Ragwort is in evidence. The property is not suitable as a separate holding and should be worked in conjunction with a neighbouring section.
