Consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £25,000 by the Central
Hawke's Bay Electric-power Board and prescribing the
Conditions thereof.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 17th day
of December, 1938.
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. M. J. SAVAGE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Central Hawke's Bay Electric-power
Board (hereinafter called "the said local authority"),
being desirous of raising the sum of twenty-five thousand
pounds (£25,000) by a loan to be known as "Reticulation
Loan, 1938" (hereinafter called "the said loan"), for the
purpose of reticulating areas at present unreticulated, has
complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans
Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called "the said Act"), and
it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-
General in Council as required by the said Act should be given
to the raising of the said loan :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on him by section eleven of the said Act, as set out
in section twenty-nine of the Finance Act, 1932 (No. 2), and
of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this
behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising in New Zealand by
the said local authority of the said loan for the said purpose
up to the amount of twenty-five thousand pounds (£25,000),
and in giving such consent doth hereby determine as follows :-
(1) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof
may be raised shall not exceed twenty-five (25) years.
(2) The rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the
said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce
to the lender or lenders a rate or rates exceeding three pounds
ten shillings (£3 10s.) per centum per annum.
(3) The said loan or any part thereof, together with interest
thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual or half-
yearly instalments extending over the term as determined
in (1) above.
(4) The payment of such instalments shall be made in
New Zealand and no instalments shall be paid out of loan-
moneys.
(5) The rate payable for brokerage, underwriting, and
procuration fees in respect of the raising of the said loan or
any part thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one half
per centum of any amount raised.
(6) No moneys shall be borrowed under this consent after
the expiration of two years from the date hereof.

Warrant vesting the Control of the Fairfield Bridge over the
Waikato River, near Hamilton (together with the Approaches
thereto), in the Waikato County Council, and apportioning
the Cost of Maintenance.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all
other powers and authorities in anyway enabling me in this
behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct
that the Fairfield Bridge over the Waikato River, near
Hamilton (together with the approaches thereto), described
in the Schedule hereto, shall, on and after the date of the
gazetting hereof, be under the exclusive care, control, and
management of the Waikato County Council; and I do hereby
further direct that the cost of maintaining the said bridge and
approaches, less such contribution (if any) as may be made
thereto by the Government of New Zealand or the Main
Highways Board, shall be borne by the Waikato County
Council, the Hamilton Borough Council, and the Waipa
County Council in the following proportions, viz.:-
The Waikato County Council shall bear four-ninths of such
cost, the Hamilton Borough Council shall bear four-ninths of
such cost, and the Waipa County Council shall bear one-
ninth of such cost, respectively; and I do also further direct
that any contribution hereby required to be made as afore-
said by the Hamilton Borough Council and the Waipa County
Council shall be paid from time to time in the proportion
hereinbefore prescribed, out of the funds of the said Councils,
within a period of one month after demand in writing made
by or on behalf of the Waikato County Council, and that
such payments shall be made from time to time to the Clerk,
Waikato County Council, for and on behalf of the said Councils.
SCHEDULE.
THAT bridge in the Auckland Land District, over the Waikato
River, near Hamilton, opposite Allotment 178, Kirikiriora
Parish, known as the Fairfield Bridge (together with the
approaches thereto). As the site of the said bridge and
approaches is more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 86977, deposited in the office of the Minister
of Public Works at Wellington.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 28th day of January, 1939.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the
three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the
Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are
set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service
of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names
respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and
receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-
first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.
