TARARUA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Pursuant to the Electric-power Board's Act, 1925, the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Statutes Amendment Act, 1938, and any other Act enabling.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Tararua Electric-power Board at a meeting of the Board, held on the 16th day of June, 1939, resolved by way of special order as follows :—
"That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £1,650, authorized to be raised under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of building two cottages in Eketahuna for the accommodation of certain members of the Board's staff, the said Tararua Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one fiftieth of one penny in the pound 1/50d. in the £) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in power district comprising the Boroughs of Pahiatarua and Eketahuna, the Countries of Pahiatarua, Eketahuna, Mauriceville, and Akitio; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off."
This resolution will be confirmed at a special meeting of the Board called for 21st July, 1939, to be held in the Board Room, Eketahuna, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 20th day of June, 1939, presented to the said Court by Joseph Walter Wright and Walter Robert Wright, both of Hastings, Clothiers, and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Wellington on the 7th day of July, 1939, at 10.30 o'clock in the forenoon ; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

MEDICAL REGISTRATION.

ROBERT BUCHANAN BEATTIE, M.B., Ch.B., Otago University, 1939, now residing at Kawakawa, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 19th July next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of Health at Whangarei.

CHRISTCHURCH TRAMWAY BOARD.

DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT LOAN, £20,000, 1939.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 9 of the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act, 1921, the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act, 1927, and all other powers it enabling the Christchurch Tramway Board hereby resolves by way of special order as follows :—
"First: That the said Board authorizes the raising of a loan of £20,000 for the purchase of the first instalment of buses for Opawa, Fendalton, and St. Martins services.
"Second: That the rate of interest payable in respect of the said loan shall not exceed three pounds ten shillings (£3 10s.) per centum per annum, and shall be paid in New Zealand.
"Third: That the said sum of £20,000 shall be repayable in New Zealand on due date.
"Fourth: That provision for the repayment thereof be made by establishing a sinking fund of eleven pounds one shilling (£11 1s.) per centum per annum, calculated on the amount borrowed.
"Fifth: That no portion of interest or sinking fund shall be paid out of loan-money.
"Sixth: That the security for the said loan shall be a special rate to provide interest and sinking fund thereon.
"Seventh: That for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund on the said loan of £20,000, the Christchurch Tramway Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought two nought seven six eight pence in the £1 (.0207068d.) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Christchurch Tramway District, comprising the whole of the said District, the boundaries of which are defined in the Schedule to the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920, as amended by subsection 3 of section 9 of the Christchurch Tramway District Amendment Act, 1932–33; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 31st March in each and every year during the currency of such loan being a period of eight years of until the loan is fully paid off.
"Eighth: That it is hereby directed that the said rate be levied and collected by the Christchurch City Council, the New Brighton, Sumner, and Riccarton Borough Councils, and the Waimairi, Paparua, Heathcote, and Halswell County Councils, respectively, within their respective districts."
The Christchurch Tramway Board in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Christchurch Tramway District Act, 1920, and all other powers it enabling, hereby further resolves by way of special order :—
"That until further resolution of the Board the interest and sinking fund on the said Development and Improvement Loan of £20,000 be paid out of the Board's General Fund."
The above special order was made on the 13th day of May, 1939, and confirmed on the 17th day of June, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that by resolution signed on the 19th June, 1939, it was resolved that Paterson's Tyre Service, Ltd., be wound up voluntarily.
