CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Reserve in Taranaki Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 16th January, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Friday, 3rd March, 1939, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., under the provisions of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928.

SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—STOCK-RESTING RESERVE.
Clifton County.—Upper Waitara Survey District.
SECTION 12, Block XI : Area, 36 acres. Upset annual rent, £6.
The wool-shed on the section is the property of the previous occupier, who has the right to remove same within three months from the date of auction.
This section, which is situated on the Waitara Valley Road, about ten miles from Uruti, is practically surrounded by the Waitara River. The area is ring-fenced and is all in grass, fairly clear of weeds. Suitable for grazing or as an accommodation paddock for stock.

Abstract of Terms and Conditions of Leasing.

(1) Term of lease fourteen years without right of renewal and the lease to be subject to termination by twelve months’ notice in writing in the event of the land being required for public purposes.
(2) Six months’ rent, broken-period rent, if any, and £1 1s. lease fee to be paid on the fall of the hammer; thereafter rent payable half-yearly in advance on first days of January and July each year.
(3) Possession to be given on day of sale conditional on the prescribed deposit being paid.
(4) No compensation to be claimed by the lessee, nor any to be allowed on account of any improvements effected by the lessee, nor for any other cause, but at the expiration or sooner determination of the lease the lessee to be entitled to and to be given three months within which to remove his improvements (except boundary-fencing) from the land.
(5) The lessee to have no right to transfer, sub-let, or otherwise dispose of the demised land except with the prior written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, New Plymouth.
(6) The land not to be cropped or broken up except with the prior written consent of the said Commissioner.
(7) The lessee to keep the land free from all noxious weeds and rabbits to the satisfaction of the said Commissioner of Crown Lands.
(8) The lessee to be liable for payment of all rates, taxes, and other assessments levied against the demised land.
(9) The lessee not to engage in any noxious, noisome, or offensive trade upon the land.

(10) The lease to be subject to termination if the lessee fails to fulfil any of the conditions of the lease, whether expressed or implied, within twenty-one days after the day on which the same should be fulfilled.
(11) The highest bidder at auction shall be the purchaser of the lease.

Pastoral Runs in Otago Land District for License.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 24th January, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral runs are open for license in terms of Part VI of the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to noon on Monday, 27th February, 1939.

Applicants are required to appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Tuesday, 28th February, 1939, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, license fee, and amount of improvement loading.

NOTE.—This land is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessees, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

Vincent County.—Lindis Survey District.—Otago Mining District.

(Exempt from payment of rent for 6 months.)

NATIONAL-ENDOWMENT LAND.

Runs 678 and 680 : Area, 22,457 acres. Annual rent, £420. Weighted with £1,911 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising boundary and subdivisional fencing, stone hut, and yards.
