to be Registrar of Marriages for the District of Buller under the Marriage Act, 1908, Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Buller under the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1924, Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Westport under the Maori Births and Deaths Registration Regulations, 1935, Registrar of Electors and Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Buller for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927, and its amendments, and Returning Officer for the Buller Licensing District for the purposes of the Licensing Act, 1908, and its amendments, as from the 10th day of May, 1939.

to be Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Queenstown for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as from the 17th day of May, 1939.

Commissioner of the Supreme Court appointed.

NOTICE.

PHILIP GOLDMAN, Esquire, of Sydney, in the State of New South Wales, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, has this day been appointed by the Right Honourable Sir Michael Myers, G.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in the State of New South Wales under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Putaruru Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

PUTARURU TOWN DISTRICT.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Town District of Putaruru taken on the 19th day of May, 1939, on the proposal of the Putaruru Town Board to borrow the sum of ten thousand pounds (£10,000) for the purpose of instituting a water-supply for the district :

Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was . . 80
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 36
Informal . . . . . . . . nil

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
