Special Order made by Ashburton County Council merging Mt. Hutt and South Rakaia Road Districts.

THE following special order made by the Ashburton County Council merging the Mt. Hutt and South Rakaia Road Districts is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920.

SPECIAL ORDER.
The following resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Ashburton County Council on the 6th day of April, 1939, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 5th day of May, 1939:—
“In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on the Council by section 30 of the Counties Act, 1920, and section 4 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1927, this Council now resolves by way of special order that on and after the 31st day of May, 1939, the Mount Hutt Road District and South Rakaia Road District shall be merged in the County of Ashburton and the Boards thereof abolished.”
I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly made.

Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Whangarei.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 147 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, the boundaries of the Borough of Whangarei are hereby defined as set out in the Schedule hereof, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered by Order in Council made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, dated the 17th day of December, 1938, and published in Gazette No. 93 of the 21st day of December, 1938.
SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF WHANGAREI.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block VIII, Purua Survey District, where the generally eastern boundary of Lot 2 on D.P. 23357 intersects the Waiarohia River; thence in a north-easterly direction generally along the aforesaid eastern boundary to the Whau Valley Road, and along the southern side of that road to a point in line with the western boundary of an area of 13 acres 1 rood 10 perches as delineated on aforesaid Deeds Plan No. 22; thence across the Whau Valley Road by a right line being the production of the aforesaid western boundary; thence along the southern side of the former Whauwhau Railway to the north-eastern corner of Lot 1 on D.P. 27155; thence across that railway and along the south-western boundaries of Lots 9, 10, 11, and 12 on aforesaid Deeds Plan No. 22, along the northern boundary of Lot 12 aforesaid, and the western side of the Whangarei-Kamo Road to the south-eastern corner of Lot 11 on aforesaid Deeds Plan No. 22; thence by a right line across the Whangarei-Kamo Road to the north-western corner of part Allotment 2, Whangarei Parish, on D.P. 3459; thence along the north-western boundary of part Allotment 2 aforesaid, the crossing of the North Auckland Main Trunk Railway, again part Allotment 2, the north-western boundary of Lot 1 on D.P. 21219 and its production to the Otangarei Stream; thence in a southerly direction generally down that stream and the right bank of the Ilatea River to the southernmost corner of Mair Park; thence by a right line across that river to the south-western corner of north part Parahaki No. 1 Block; thence along the generally southern boundary of that block, the generally western boundary of the Parahaki Reserve, the generally northern and north-eastern boundaries of Sections 47 and 55A on Deeds Plan No. 60, and the northern extremity of a public road; thence by a right line passing through Parahaki No. 3 Block to the northernmost corner of Allotment 2, Parahaki Parish; thence along the north-western and south-western boundaries of Allotment 2 aforesaid, to the northernmost corner of part Allotment 1, Parahaki Parish, on D.P. 10165; thence along the generally north-western boundaries of parts Allotment 1, Parahaki Parish, on D.P. 10165 and 5192, respectively, to and across the Parua Bay Road and along the southern side of that road to a dredged channel which forms the south-eastern boundary of Reclamation No. 5; thence in a generally western direction along the northern side of that channel for a distance of 810 links, approximately; thence along the edge of a channel forming the south-western boundary of Reclamation No. 5 aforesaid, 800 links, approximately; thence along the south-eastern boundary of Reclamation No. 4 for a distance of approximately 234 links; thence along the foreshore following the rock retaining-wall forming the generally south-western and western boundaries of Reclamation No. 4, the southern side of Parua Bay Road, the rock retaining-wall forming the generally south-western and western boundaries of Reclamation No. 3, again the Parua Bay Road, the stone wall forming the generally southern boundary of another reclamation (Esplanade), and again the Parua Bay Road to the Victoria Bridge; thence along the southern side of that bridge across the Hatea River; thence in a generally south-easterly direction following the foreshore of the Whangarei Harbour, and up the left bank of the Waiarohia River (old course), to a point in line with the embankment forming the north-western boundary of a reclamation containing 16 acres 2 roods 18 perches, more or less; thence by a right line across the aforesaid Waiarohia River and along the embankments forming the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of the aforesaid reclamation to a dredged channel; thence along the north-western side of that channel and the northern side of a canal to its intersection with the generally northern side of the Port Whangarei Road; thence along that roadside to the generally north-western boundary of part Okara Block; thence along the generally north-western and north-eastern boundaries of part Okara Block and the generally eastern side of the Port Whangarei Road to the middle of the Haha Creek (Limeburners Creek); thence in a generally south-westerly direction along a right line crossing the Port Whangarei Road at right angles and passing through a point midway across the bridge, to the North Auckland Main Trunk Railway; thence along the north-eastern side of that railway to the generally eastern boundary of part Okara Block; thence across the railway to the north-eastern corner of another part of Okara Block; thence along the south-western side of the railway, to and along the north-eastern and south-western boundaries of part Okara Block on D.P. 5198 (now railway land, Gazette 1923, page 1537), and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of a public road; thence along the middle-lines of that road, a former road and street (taken for railway purposes by Gazette 1931, page 3363), the middle-line of another public road which forms the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 23, 22, 21, and 20 on D.P. 10170, Lots 24, 23, 22, 21, 20, 19, 18, 14, 13, 12, 11, and 10 on D.P. 14618, and Anzac Park as shown on D.P. 12081, and the middle-line of High Street to its junction with the middle-line of Mount Pleasant Street; thence in a generally north-westerly direction along the middle-lines of Mount Pleasant Street and Otaika Road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 17 on D.P. 374; thence across Otaika Road and along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 17 on D.P. 374, the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of part Raumaanga No. 2 Block, and the north-eastern boundary of Lot W8 on D.P. 975; thence across Raumaanga Road and up the middle of the Raumaanga Stream to its junction with a line being the production of the eastern boundary of part Raumaanga No. 2 Block on D.P. 11666; thence in a generally northerly direction along that line and boundary, and the southern side of a public road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 1 on D.P. 3158; thence by a right line across that public road and along the last-mentioned boundary to the north-eastern corner of Lot 1 aforesaid; thence by a right line across Maunu Road to the south-eastern corner of part Lot 3 on D.P. 17296; thence along the eastern boundary of Lot 3 aforesaid, the southern boundary of part Horahera No. 2 on D.P. 568, the south-western, south-eastern, and north-eastern boundaries of part Horahera No. 2 Block, containing 24 acres 0 roods 28 perches, and the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1 on D.P. 13934, the generally south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of
