Variation of an Order in Council prohibiting Alienation of Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 16th day of May, 1939.

PURSUANT to section one hundred and sixty-seven of the Native Land Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council doth hereby vary an Order in Council made on the twenty-ninth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, and published in the Gazette on the third day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, at page 424, and affecting Paeroa East 3a 1 Block and other blocks, by excluding therefrom the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Appointment as Chairman, Government Railways Appeal Board.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
PURSUANT to section nine of the Government Railways Amendment Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, hereby appoint as a member and as Chairman of the Government Railways Appeal Board, John George Lewis Hewitt, of Wanganui, Stipendiary Magistrate, to hold office for a term of one year from and including the twentieth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 18th day of May, 1939.

Inventions and Designs exhibited at the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition, 1939–40.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by sections fifty and sixty-three of the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1921–22, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the public exhibition of works of industry, art, and science which is to commence at Wellington in the said Dominion in November, 1939, and which is to be called “The New Zealand Centennial Exhibition,” is an International Exhibition for the purposes of the said Act.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 19th day of May, 1939.

Officers authorized to take and receive Statutory Declarations.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Land permanently reserved in the Taranaki Land District for Recreation Purposes.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes of the said section mentioned;
And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month, but not later than six months, after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette;
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by the Warrant dated the twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, and published in the Gazette of the second day of March of that year, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for recreation purposes:
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the land described in the Schedule hereto for recreation purposes for which purpose the said land was so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.
All that area containing by admeasurement 12 acres 0 roods 15 perches, more or less, being Mokau-Mohakatino 2c 3a 2 Block, Block I, Tainui Survey District: Bounded towards the north generally by the Mokau River, 180 links, and Mokau-Mohakatino 2c 3a 3 Block, 2644·9 links; towards the south by Mokau Road, 2359·9 links; and towards the west by Mokau-Mohakatino 2c 3a 1 Block, 897·9 links; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. I/1017A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 17th day of May, 1939.
