This section is situated in the Borough of Mosgiel, half a mile from Mosgiel Post-office and School and one and a half miles from Railway-station. The area comprises first-class flat land, the soil being a heavy loam. The section is suitable for growing grain and root crops, also for dairying and grazing. It is well watered.

Town Lands in Southland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Invercargill, 19th April, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, 6th June, 1939.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, on Thursday, 8th June, 1939, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

NOTE—The sections are situated within the Otago Mining District and are offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

These sections are situated three-quarters of a mile to one mile from Colac Railway-station which is thirty-three miles from Invercargill and six miles from Riverton. Each section fronts onto Takutai Terrace which runs parallel to the beach. Sections are suitable for seaside residences.
