ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of March, 1939.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the ninth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six, and published in the Gazette of the tenth day of that month, the control of the land described in the Schedule to that document, being a reserve for a site for a public hall, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Order in Council constituted a special Board, by the name of the Northbank Settlers’ Public Hall Board, in pursuance of section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928:
And whereas it is considered desirable that the membership of the said Board should be increased:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby appoint
Hazel Jane Gilchrist
to be an additional member of the Northbank Settlers’ Public Hall Board constituted by the Order in Council dated the ninth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six, hereinbefore referred to.

Boundaries of Borough of Ashburton and County of Ashburton altered.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of March, 1939.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS in pursuance of section one hundred and thirty-seven of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying that a certain area be excluded from the County of Ashburton and included in the Borough of Ashburton:
And whereas a Commission appointed under the said section held inquiries and recommended that the said area, with an alteration of boundaries thereof, be excluded from the County of Ashburton and included in the Borough of Ashburton:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to make the alteration of boundaries recommended by the said Commission:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Ashburton and included in the Borough of Ashburton.
SCHEDULE.
AREA EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF ASHBURTON AND INCLUDED IN BOROUGH OF ASHBURTON.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of the existing Ashburton Borough boundary on the bank of the Ashburton River in line with the continuance of the north-western boundary of North-west Town Belt (Oak Grove); thence continuing in a northerly direction along the north-east bank of the Ashburton River to its intersection with the southern boundary of Lot 42 on deposit plan 888; thence easterly along the southern boundary of Lots 42 and 41 on deposit plan 888, to a road-line; thence along the western and southern boundaries of this road-line to the western boundary of Alford Forest Road; thence northerly along the western boundary of Alford Forest Road to a point in line with the continuance of the south-eastern boundary of Farm Road; thence north-easterly across Alford Forest Road and along the south-eastern boundary of Farm Road to the south-western boundary of Winters Road; thence along the south-western boundary of Winters Road to and across Allens Road; thence continuing along the south-eastern boundary of Allens Road in a north-easterly direction to the centre of the Wakanui (or Mill) Stream; thence continuing in a south-easterly direction along the centre-line of this stream to its intersection with the north-westerly boundary of Lot 1 on deposit plan 7439; thence north-easterly along the north-westerly boundaries of deposit plans Nos. 7439, 8207, and 8078, to the south-western boundary-line of Racecourse Road; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Racecourse Road to its intersection with the north-western boundary of West Street; and thence across West Street and following the eastern boundary of the Railway Reserve across the railway-line to the north-western boundary of East Street; thence in a south-western direction along the north-western boundary of East Street to a point opposite the north-eastern corner of the existing Ashburton Borough boundary on East Street; thence across East Street to this existing boundary; thence in a south-westerly, north-westerly, and south-westerly direction along the existing Ashburton Borough boundary adjoining the land above affected to the commencing point.

And whereas it is expedient to make such alteration of the boundaries of the said borough:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the City of Auckland and included in the Borough of Newmarket.
SCHEDULE.
AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE CITY OF AUCKLAND AND INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF NEWMARKET.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, in the City of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 2 roods 14 perches, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the southernmost corner of Allotment 17 of Section 4, Suburbs of Auckland: thence in a north-easterly direction along the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 17 aforesaid, a distance of 190·7 links; thence in a south-easterly direction following a right line bearing 312° 13′ distance 980·46 links to a stream; thence in a south-westerly direction generally up that stream to the south-eastern corner of Allotment 21 of Section 4, Suburbs of Auckland; thence in a north-westerly direction along the north-eastern boundaries of Allotments 21 and 35 of Section 4, Suburbs of Auckland, to the Auckland-Newmarket Railway; thence in a north-easterly direction along that railway to the point of commencement.
