Lands in Taranaki Land District for Selection.

New Plymouth, 17th January, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 20th February, 1939.

The land described in the First Schedule may, at the option of the applicants, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease. The lands described in the Second Schedule may be selected on renewable lease only.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 22nd February, 1939, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken period rent, lease and mortgage fees, deposit in reduction of improvement loading, and proportionate part of insurance premium on buildings.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Whanganui County.—Ngatimaru Survey District.

Sections 27 and 28, Block IV: Area, 266 acres. Capital value, £70. Deposit on deferred payments, £5: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £2 2s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £1 8s.

Weighted with £50 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising 266 acres falling, now reverted, and approximately 5 chains fencing.

A grazing property situated on the Arnold Road one mile and a half from Pohokura Post-office, School, and Railway-station and twenty miles from Douglas Saleyards. The sections are watered by streams, and are on fairly steep hillsides with a few acres of creek flat. The soil is poor loam on sandstone formation. Ragwort is in evidence.
