Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License
under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Taking of Fish for Sale.
I HEREBY give notice that an application has been received
from S. R. McArthur for a license to take fish for sale
at Timaru by means of a 39 ft. 12 h.p. trawler formerly
operated at Port Chalmers by Mr. J. G. Potter. Proposed
market: Timaru.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by
the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application,
and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the
undersigned not later than the 26th January, 1939.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on
Renewable Lease.
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 17th January, 1939.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section
is open for selection on renewable lease under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland,
up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, 10th March, 1939.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, on Wednesday, 15th March, 1939, at 10.30
o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he
may be examined by any other Land Board or by any
Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when
examined documentary evidence of their financial position,
such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from
managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms,
or from private persons or parents undertaking to give
financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially
should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and
supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is
required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit
comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent,
lease and mortgage fees, and deposit on account of weighting
for improvements.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Mangonui County.— Mangonui Survey District.—Taipa Block.
(Exempt from payment of rent for two years.*)
SECTION 12, Block V: Area, 168 acres 1 rood 34 perches.
Capital value, £85; half-yearly rent, £2 2s. 6d.
- Rental exemption is conditional on improvements to the
value of £10 being effected annually and also phosphatic
manure to the value of £10 being applied to pastures annually
during the concession period in addition to the usual require-
ments under the Land Act.
Weighted with £155 for improvements, comprising 12 acres
cultivated and grassed, 94 chains internal fencing, 56 chains
boundary fencing, and dwelling of four rooms. This sum
is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £15, the
balance will be secured by an instalment mortgage for a term
of fifteen years with half-yearly instalments of principal and
interest combined amounting to £6 13s. 10d.
The property is situated on the Mangonui Ridge Road,
three-quarters of a mile from Mangonui Post-office, School,
and Port; nearest dairy factory is at Oruru, twelve miles
distant. Access is from Mangonui, the first half-mile being
by metalled road and the last quarter-mile by formed sandy-
clay road passable for practically the whole year round.
Soil is light clay resting on sandstone and semi-ironstone
formation. Section, which is subdivided into three paddocks,
comprises easy, undulating, mostly ploughable land, covered
in tea-tree scrub, rushes, and hakea. Has a northerly aspect;
watered by swampy streams. Suitable for dairying and
cropping. There is a little gorse in evidence. Subject to
a drainage easement.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections
are open for selection under the Land Act, 1924, and
the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will
be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey
Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, 10th March,
1939.
The land described in the First Schedule may, at the option
of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred pay-
ments or be selected on renewable lease—term, sixty-six
years. The lands described in the Second Schedule may be
selected on renewable lease only—term, thirty-three years.
The lands described in the Third Schedule may also be selected
on renewable lease only—term, sixty-six years. In each case
the lease contains a perpetual right of renewal at revaluation.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at

instalment on deferred payments, £1 2s. 9d. Renewable
lease: half-yearly rent, 16s.
Weighted with £90 for improvements, comprising dwelling
(dilapidated), two sheds, 10 chains road fence, 10 chains
boundary fence, 2 acres pasture (one-half cultivated in fallow).
This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit
of £20, the balance will be paid over a term of five years by
half-yearly instalments of £7, plus interest at 5 per cent.
This property is situated on the Paremoremo Road,
adjacent to Paremoremo Post-office, one-quarter of a mile
from Paremoremo Wharf and four miles and a half from
Albany by metalled road. Launch service to Auckland calls
at Paremoremo Wharf daily. Soil is pipe-clay and clay loam
on clay and sandstone. Section is hilly to broken, and is
suitable for a home for a man with outside employment.

SECTION 58: Area, 5 acres. Capital value, £250; half-
yearly rent, £6 5s.
Weighted with £470 for improvements, comprising bungalow
of four rooms, washhouse, cow-shed, 52 chains fencing, 2 chains
shelter-belt, 3 acres cleared and in poor grass. This sum is
payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £70, the
balance may be secured by an instalment mortgage to the
State Advances Corporation for a term of twenty years with
quarterly payments of principal and interest combined
amounting to £7 14s. 4d. Cost of preparation and registra-
tion of mortgage £3 7s. are payable by selector.
Section situated within a stone’s throw of New North
Road (which is concreted from Auckland) on formed, metalled
road, and commands a fine view of the Waitakerei Ranges.
Access is from Oratia Station, half a mile away. All level
land, ploughable, the soil being of a clay nature on sandstone,
Elevation is 250 ft. above sea-level.
