Excluding Streets and Roads from Limitation as to Speed imposed by the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport does hereby exclude the street described in the Schedule hereto from the limitation as to speed imposed by the said section.

SCHEDULE.

SITUATED within Wellington City—
The Khandallah–Johnsonville Road (commencing at a point 3 chains measured along the road in a northerly direction from its junction with Maldive Street and terminating at the north-eastern boundary of Wellington City, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 20 chains).

Situated within Johnsonville Town District—
The Khandallah–Johnsonville Main Highway No. 526 (commencing at the southern boundary of Johnsonville Town District, as now constituted, and terminating at a point 8 chains measured along the main highway in a southerly direction from its junction with Waterloo Road, a distance of approximately 58 chains).

Approval of Testing Officer under the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931.

IN terms of regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve, until further notice, of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

IN terms of regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve, until further notice, of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Plant Declared to be a Noxious Weed in the Hawke’s Bay County.—(Notice No. Ag. 3646.)

THE following special order made by the Hawke’s Bay County Council on the 13th day of March, 1939, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER.

IN pursuance of section 4 of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Hawke’s Bay County Council hereby declares Hemlock (Conium maculatum) to be a noxious weed within the jurisdiction of the said Council.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Roads of Less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Raumati Extension No. 28, affecting part Lot 1 on D.P. 6475, and Lot 14 on D.P. 9992, being portion of Sections 3 and 5, Wainui Registration District, Block II, Paekakariki Survey District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that the proposed road shown thereon should be of the width of 66 ft. :

Now, therefore, I, Frank Langstone, Minister of Lands, do hereby, in pursuance of the power conferred upon me by section 17, subsection (1) of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power me thereunto enabling, authorize the laying-off of the proposed road of a width of not less than 50 ft. : Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such road.

Given under my hand, this 17th day of March, 1939.

Poukawa Swamp Drainage Area.—Penalty on Overdue Rates.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 9th March, 1939.

IN pursuance of section 76 of the Rating Act, 1925, and the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, the ratepayers within the rating area constituted by the last-mentioned Act are hereby notified that 10 per cent. additional will be added to all rates for the year ending 31st March, 1939, unpaid on the 12th April, 1939.

Rates should be paid to the Collector of Drainage Rates, Lands and Survey Department, Box 160, Napier.
